Normally don't fish a lot of topwaters, but the Evergreen SB-105 has produced some quality fish for me this year

Keitech Paddlin Beaver has produced a lot for me too.

  • A jerk bait was my top producer this spring for smallmouth. Lately, a neko rigged stick bait has been slaying largies.   I may be on pace for my best season ever, which was in 2020.

  • The wildly productive early season Lake Menderchuck one two punch of a jerkbait and a wiggle wagon continued again this spring.  However as we slid into the summer season, I have reaquainted myself wi

I’ve actually been on a little topwater kick lately also. How’s the casting distance on that 105 vs the 125?

For me it's been flukes, jigs, baby brush hogs as my top players. Secondary would be crankbaits, ribbontail worms, topwater in the from of spit'n images and jitterbugs.

Last year I caught a lot on a split shot rig using a power worm and a finesse worm. This year, the times I've tried it, it hasn't done as well.

I dont have a 125, but tbh I've got no complaints about the 105's casting distance. Can easily get it where it needs to go.

I've only caught 4 smallmouth so far and haven't had much chance to target them yet. Hoping to get on the rivers for some more bronze over the next month.  I'm expecting a popper, rage menace, 3-4" keitech, and senko should do well.

Chatterbaits

Spinnerbaits

Flukes

Poppers

Frogs

If really slow go to a 8" straight worm or 10" curly tail.
