Yozuri hybrid?.?

I use 6# on several setups.  I haven’t used any heavier Yozuri.  I’m getting ready to order some more and thinking about 10 or 12#.  Is that supple enough to use on a 2500 Stradic?

Having used YZH for years - I wouldn't go above 8# on a 2500 or even 3000 reel. 10# and above I save for casting reels.

Don't forget that 8# YZH has a tested breaking strength of 12# per the IGFA.

No! If the mono/copoly/ FC line is larger diameter then .010, the memory will cause you problems. With spinning reels angler use braid main line with larger diameter leaders to solve this problem.

I no longer use YoZuri Hybrid but when I did I didn't go over 6lb on spinning gear. To me based on diameter, its closer to 8lb. My issue with it was a short life span. Based on how often I fish, it just didn't last.  When it aged,  it became brittle and I would sometimes get random break offs. So it would lead me to believe that I needed heavier line but in reality, I needed to change it more often.  I'm not saying its not good line. I just moved on to lines I get more out of and fit my style of fishing.

Same thoughts here, yzh also has a significant larger diameter vs typical fluoro so that 10 & 12 are really more like 12 & 15 fc. I wouldn't go over 8lb on any 3k or smaller spinner.

Thanks for the input.  I won’t order 10# when I get my 6#.

I have braid and leader on the reel but just put it on a different rod.  The braid carries too much in the wind and is causing me fits.  I’ll just use some 10# mono off that 5000 yd spool that I have and be done.

My 10# mono is 0.11.  It works just fine on anything bigger than my old Stradic 2000s.
