Did a little more investigation today. Found the capacity plate and removed it so I could read it. It's super faded. It was simply nailed on the wooden transom.

It is rated for a 40HP motor, 4 persons and 1100 pounds.

There are a few extra holes where they had mounted things with machine screws.

The bottom is flat at the stern and transforms into a V. Doing some research tells me this is a semi-v hull, and it has soft edges.

How stable will this boat actually be for standing in the bow? I don't want a boat that's just "doable" I want stable since I have balance issues.

Basically, I'm trying to decide what I'm going to do with it. No reason to try to make this into a bass boat if it's going to be so unstable I can't stand in the bow.

With that capacity and HP rating, that should be a pretty stable platform. I wouldn’t bring the deck much higher than it currently is, but overall it should be okay.

I owned a 1960 Rich Line for 20+ years. It was a good boat and served me well.

Did some major updates in 2021.

You do good work! Very functional and balanced.
If the OP looks closely the front seat is located where the boat side are straight and wide apart. You don’t want to stand to fish any closer to the bow!

PS, PM Kieth Way2Slow for help with Evinrude engine!

Thank you! I spent a lot of time pondering where to put things, researching, looking at other boats, other builds, etc.

I moved the front seat back to give myself more room to stand. That little boat was very stable for how small it was. Very shallow draft...I think less than 4 inches total.

It was really fun figuring everything out, routing wires, setting up switches, lights, bilge, etc. Great learning experience for sure!

@Bazoo try these two sites…. When I did my build I got a lot of ideas from these.

Yep - lots of good ideas and tip on those two...I referenced them often when doing my build.
