Anyone ever order anything from Japan Tackle?

Featured Replies

Just curious how long it takes for them to ship someting they have in stock?  Ordered a reel this morning and was wondering if it's the normal 5-7 days or longer?  I know what they say..but is that what they really mean........

Most probably you will have it by the end of next week, you ordered on a weekend so that adds 3 days, your reel won 't leave Japan until Monday and it usually takes 4-5 days to arrive, so 4-5 + 3 = 7-8. Since Jun ships by EMS with the number you can track it, click on Item No Search right next to the EMS box, then copy and paste your shipping number in one of the boxes and click on Tracking Starts, it takes about 30 seconds to find you parcel.

Depends on if they shipped it UPS or Fedex. ;D

I'll just sit back and watch now!!!!! :)

I orderd a zillion reel from them on a saturday it was at my door by wednesday. I was very happy with the shipping time.

I have bought several reels from overseas.  I've bought from both Japan Tackle, and Ginrin.  I have always received my reels in about 3 or 4 days.  They really do have fast shipping! :)

So what kind of reel did you buy?

Bought a Daiwa Alphas.  Raul explained the differences bewteen the Sol and the Alphas and based on that I went with the Alphas.  CRBB, lighter..was an easy choice.  Can't wait to get my hands on it.

When you get your reel before spooling any line oil the bearings supporting the spool, remove the sideplate ( you 'll find one bearing in it ), remove the spool ( you 'll find another bearing there ), the other two bearings are in handle sideplate, remove the rension knob cap and the T shape pin, drop a drop of oil in there, drop a drop of oil on the other side, oil the spool bearing and the sideplate bearing. Put on the cap and reinsert the spool. With a paper clip remove the knob screw cover and drop a drop of oil to lubricate the knob ( you should have ordered the knob bearings  ::) ).

Now ya tell me  :'(

Thanks for the oiling tips...will do it as soon as I get it.

Cheers

Just don't put more then ONE TINY drop of oil on the bearings.  Too much oil will slow the spool down....

Quantum Hot Sauce okay to use?   I read that some of the imports come with their own special oil.

Bought a Daiwa Alphas.

You will love it.....My Alpha is my smoother reel, much more than my TD-Zs and Scorpion.

They have amazing shipping.  I ordered it on Friday and got it on Wednesday the following week.....from JAPAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't get that kind of service when I mail a first class letter to someone in the same state..much less the same country.

I sent Jun and thank you and will be buying from them again....a first class operation.
