poison adrena

Featured Replies

hey

I was thinking about picking up the redesigned poison adrena, the 7ft 2" medium casting rod. what do you guys think of it for those who own one? im curious to know thanks

The Adrena is a nice rod . I personally don’t think it’s any more sensitive than the Zodias  but they are well made.

Yeah it may/ may not be more sensitive but that jump in price point has to account for something lol. I know it has SiC guides but that alone would not explain the price difference so there has to be something more advanced about it

I have them in spinning.  7'2" ML and the previous gen 6'10" UL/M.  Then the zodias 6'9" ML current gen.  The PA is a little lighter for sure.  Certainly in hand the 7'2" PA is lighter than the shorter zodias.  The grip and palm swell in the PA feels better to me than the zodias.  It isn't much different, but you notice swapping back and forth.  I don't fish the same baits side by side on the two so I can't say for sure on sensitivity.

Can I muddy the waters a bit and throw in the expride? I’m just curious what’s different between the expride and the poison adrena.

I have the expride b myself, it is very light and sensitive. im assuming superior blank technology. both rods have SiC guides. so the blank must be more advanced

I don’t have an expride (yet) but the gap between the zodias and the PA is pretty small.  I can see a space for the expride, but it is going to impinge on one or both of those lines.

If you like a more traditional look, you’ll like the Expride as opposed to the light saber looks of the Adrena.
I have a 7‘2“heavy Expride and it’s a  nice dragging rod . Big jigs, big worms, even big spinner baits .
