2026 STEEZ SV LIGHT TW

Featured Replies

Where are my reel experts?

What's the difference between this and the 2024 Steez SV TW100?

I have a couple of the above and have enjoyed them.

The 2026 version obviously has the word "Light" in it, but I'm not sure what that exactly means because it looks like they have the same size of spool.

Does it just weigh less? Is it meant to throw lighter lures? Does it have more bells and whistles?

I'm no expert so I'll gladly take some thoughts from those that know.

THANKS!

Beats me, Jun Sonada has the exact same write up for both reels with one difference - Shallow Spool for Lite. Photo shows silver trim on Lite vs. Gunmetal trim on '24

However, he lists the same capacity for both reels.

'24 Steez is $50 cheaper. Maybe the difference is the new price.

I think its just a lighter spool version with some different color finishes. They've done this before with the SV Light Limited. Why it's on the US market I have no idea. These are usually JDM only and limited production. Maybe they feel like they need a flagship BFS reel for the US market?

One can always buy a lighter spool for any Steez @ 34mm. I don’t own a Steez but 5 Zillions & an SLP shallow spool that weighs 11 grams, not exactly a lightweight but it does an 1/8, does 3/16 real well. Matching to a proper rod is the main battle, it’s worth the investment @$90 on the SV boost..IMG_2280.jpeg

I believe the Steez SV Limited I have, has the same spool. I've been using mine for 3/8oz and 1/2oz jigs. It makes me look like a jig pitching pro.
