I told myself I wouldn’t buy anything this winter

I make no such promises to myself or my wife. This year's New England Fishing Expo was VERY expensive.

My largest purchases each year tend to be fishing line, and replacement hooks.

I wish I had that much discipline!

Glides, big crankbaits, PD Chopper with a 5in Spark Shad, and some big topwater.

It’s amazing for a tiny Klash I would definitely get one and fish it if you don’t have one. I primarily just throw glidebaits and wakebaits on mine. I’ve done some magnum cranks on mine too. I will also be attempting the pd chopper on it this year - it should have enough backbone for it.

I was pretty good this winter lol. I bought one new rod that falcon finally had in stock, a new lews reel I got on sale at fleet farm. I bought a few bags of plastics, some sinkers to try the free rig, a couple 1/4 lipless cranks, a couple chatterbaits, a couple bags of Ned baits, and a boat.

I get sneaky about tackle purchases during the winter. I'll purchase one lure every week when I take the better half grocery shopping. I make sure we go to a store with a good fishing selection, pick out one lure or bag of plastics and throw it in the cart. When I get the 'look', I brush it off with a "it's only one, or it's the cost of me actually going grocery shopping." 20+ weeks later, I'm fairly well stocked up.

Pure genius, now if only Bass Pro Shops had groceries, and Costco had fishing tackle, the Bait Monkey wouldn't be online and on my back.
