  1. If you do well on topwaters with rattles, you should definitely try the Teckel Kicknocker if you don’t already own one. It has a combination of low pitch and high pitch which drives the fish nuts.
  2. I also agree sound matters more than color. I haven’t really seen color make a difference but I haven’t given it a scientific test. Sounds like from this thread most agree, with the lone exception being chrome out producing white on a sunny day. For the guys looking for silent spooks definitely check out that evergreen Justine / JT115
  3. My current favorite is the Teckel Kicknocker. It has a unique sound and they absolutely destroy it. My top 3 walking baits all time would be: Evergreen SB105 (shower blows shorty) Megabass Giant Dog X Teckel Kicknocker Honorable mention to the LC Sammy which used to be a staple but I never throw anymore, and one sleeper bait is the evergreen Justine.
  4. What were the conditions and color differences where one outfished another 8-1?
  5. Just curious if people think or have seen color matter when it comes to walking topwaters? I usually try to have a white or bone and then a more translucent color for high sun. I haven’t experimented enough to see if there is actually a difference though.
  6. There is a YouTube video by the hook up tackle with Kenta Kimura talking about how he rigs and fishes them. Be sure to check it out. It has a slow death spiral on the weighted swimbait hook - very unique action.
  7. If there are bluegill around the Deps bullflat is a deadly approach on a weighted swimbait hook. If you need something with a bullet weight I like the reaction innovations spicy beaver or missile d bomb.
  8. Ya know it’s pretty funny that you posted this because I’m planning to go back to this pond later today and I was going to try a swim jig with a swammer on the back. Another Xzone bait I have but haven’t gotten around to fishing yet.
  9. Anyone fish these? I bought a pack a while back to throw on a swing head. I did a quick pond trip the other day and threw it in my bag to fish on a Texas rig and ended up catching the second biggest fish I’ve ever pulled out of this particular pond on a tough day.
  10. Deps is basically like 50% off US pricing at digitaka. Last order I picked up a bunch of the evoke cranks. I was hoping to add some shooter (ive only ever fished sniper so wanted to give it a shot) but they were sold out of the sizes I needed.
  11. Well my liltankers are arriving on Wednesday will see if I can get them wet on Thursday.
  12. Yes I watched that video too. He makes good baits. The Kicknocker is awesome (walking topwater) if you don’t have one.
  13. What colors liltanker did you get? I got bone and bluegill. I just heard they said they are a week behind on orders so hopefully get it this coming week. I fish the buzzjets (both sizes) in similar places - have had the best luck over submerged weedbeds. One retrieve to try with the jr which has worked well for me in open water especially for smallmouth is to rip it (long hard pull) and then long pause and rip it again. If you can get the pull just right to where it stays on or near the surface, the blade on the back will throw a ton of water and it calls fish in from a distance.
  14. What is “haul”?
  15. Ordered a couple of the new Teckel liltanker’s that are modeled after the old bandit footloose.
  16. Glide bait is easily number one. Super addicting with the class of fish that it raises, problem is you usually get more followers than fish that commit. After that I’d say burning a crankbait - specifically deep cranking.
  17. I would try a Deps evoke 3.0. Gets about 6-7 feet on a long cast. They come through wood great. Probably a lot of other options you can throw for the shell beds.
  18. I was too slow on a couple things and debating whether I should just buy now or wait to see if they do anything this weekend
  19. How are you fishing that buzz jet jr? Just a slow steady retrieve or do you work in any pops, twitches or pulls?
  20. Excellent thanks I need to pick up some terminal stuff and was too slow on the hook up tackle sale.
  21. What sort of structure are you fishing on the bottom
  22. Do they cast any better than the daibuzzin heavy hitter? It spins a lot especially if there is any wind.
  23. Wondering the same. I think they just do a Memorial Day and Labor Day and/or black Friday sale now but we’ll see.
  24. I have 3 or 4 of them, but when I’m throwing bigger wakes I prefer the garage built stuff. Personal favorite is the toxic Wade Hoggs and whippersnapper. But that falls into the swimbait category for me vs traditional wakebait.
  25. The injection molded (abs) shellcrackers are awesome. I think they stopped making them though?
