Current experience ordering JDM gear
Did exchange rate improve or get worse? Just curious since I made a good sized order from Digi a few days ago. Btw shipping was free but they are closed until 5/13 (which I didn’t notice until after I placed my order - oh well).

megabass really worth it?
All baits catch fish. I think Megabass baits get me more bites.

For smaller swimbaits (Chad/Bull Shad) and topwater/wake rats what do you feel is the ideal size/length treble?

Have you noticed a lot of these UV fishing gloves have this thick material for “grip” that severely compromises dexterity?
I’ve been using the Aftco gloves for a number of years and usually buy a new pair every couple years. But I see that they are now making them with PFA’s which gives me some pause. I was going to look at trying Simms gloves instead for this reason. Anyone have experience with the Simms Solarflex gloves?

Recommended sling packs for bank fishing?
I ended up getting the TW sling and recently used it for the first time. It’s perfect for my needs and at a reasonable price. It’s made for two 3600 size boxes but I was able to fit one 3600, two glide baits and a mag draft. The front pocket that opens out creating a “tray” is super helpful for changing baits. I would strongly recommend if anyone is considering it.

weight transfer system and great casting crankbaits
IMO, the Z2 is the special bait out of the Z series. You can still grind it shallow. If you like the Z1, you need to get a Z2. It’s excelled for me in the craw colors.

Elastomer or Elaztech on the Free Rig
The elastomer stuff seems to be recommended to be used with a Gika rig

Magdraft vs Swammer
No pre spawn meaning you can’t fish for bass in the pre spawn? If so that sucks. It’s still good in post spawn while those fish are looking to recover with a big meal and are typically feeding up.

Magdraft vs Swammer
Don’t get the freestyle, get the treble hook harness version. I can only speak to the 6”, but it’s a special bait that catches big ones. It excels in cold water from pre spawn to post spawn and after the post spawn bite ends I won’t pick it back up until fall. It needs to be retrieved at a certain pace to work properly, I would say about medium pace to where the head rocks back and forth and the tail kicks. Any faster than a medium retrieve and it will blow out. I wouldn’t think twice about buying a few or more - definitely worth the price. I’ve caught both big largemouth and smallmouth on the 6” treble hook version.

Recommended sling packs for bank fishing?
Thanks man I like to swimbait and that’s typically what I do when bank beating but I like to have some conventional for backup. Or if it’s tough conditions ie dead of summer I’ll just throw conventional. Sounds like this would be a good fit for me. Price is right so think I’ll give it a shot.

Recommended sling packs for bank fishing?
Are you happy with it? I put one in the cart, was hoping TW would have some sort of Easter sale this weekend so I could get it at a discount, but haven’t seen anything yet.

Recommended sling packs for bank fishing?
Is it not too bulky? Does it get in the way at all while fishing? How comfortable is it? I like having the space if needed just concerned about the larger size of the tw sling.

Recommended sling packs for bank fishing?
Do you mind sharing the dimensions of the box so I can get a sense of what will fit in the pack?

Recommended sling packs for bank fishing?
I was just looking at that Simms tributary sling bag. It’s on sale at scheels for $59.99. What size Plano box can you fit into the main compartment? Would it fit a 3600 size box or does it need to be smaller? I’m not sure what the OSP box you have in there is comparable to size wise.

Recommended sling packs for bank fishing?
Looking to purchase a sling pack for bank fishing trips. I’ve been using a backpack for a while but it’s a little bit of a pain to sling it around to my chest any time I need to change lures. I’ve done some looking and found a few options but wanted to see if I can source other feedback or maybe additional options here. My top choice would be the LSD designs bags from Japan but the only domestic retailer for them I can find is the hook up tackle and they are all sold out. Tackle warehouse has a fairly cheap option that looks decent but on the bulky side of things. Then a buddy recommended a fishpond summit sling 2.0 as a more compact option but it’s not necessarily built with bass fishing in mind and is on the more expensive side. Anything else out there to consider or feedback on the options mentioned above?

New Video! Top 5 Baits for April Bass Fishing (Elite Pro Matty Wong)
Makes sense. He mentions the glide bait is a doomrider but actually appears to be the sentinel model with the cross tail.

The latest sale thread
Any spring/easter sales expected later this week or this weekend? I want to say TW normally does one. Need to pick up some terminal stuff and hoping to get it on sale.

Metanium 2020 - 0 casting distance
Are the two brakes that are engaged at opposite ends of one another? That’s one potential issue. You can also try putting some reel oil on the raceway (via Que tip) where the brakes ride against. If you google Shimano reel maintenance you should be able to find a video tutorial of this. Those are only potential fixable issues I can think of. If you bought it from a retailer and not second hand I’d probably just do an exchange. It’s possible there could be a bad spool bearing thats limiting distance - had this happen in one of my 2020 Mets and had to send in to Shimano.

KARASHI 80 ; ANYBODY GET ONE?
I hope it’s good, I “accidentally” bought 8 of them.

New Plano pro latch
Yea I thought about getting pliers but was able to remove by hand after some effort. I thought I might break the box just trying to winch it out.

New Plano pro latch
The dividers on this new box aren’t connected like on the old Plano boxes so there are no nubs

New Plano pro latch
I got a few more of these and after messing around with organization I realized once you place the dividers they are very hard to remove. I guess that could be a good thing or a bad thing depending how often you change up your boxes. One of the boxes came broken so I had to return for a new one. Plastic was cracked by the latch that opens and closes the box - hope it’s not a design flaw.
