Trying to decide where to go

I’m going fishing tomorrow and a little torn on where to go. I was thinking of going and chasing a big smallie but I just checked my Deep Dive app and see the lake has come up almost 3’ this week, which probably also means it’s muddy, not ideal smallie conditions, so it looks like I’ll have to go somewhere else.

How do you decide where to go when you’re struggling with indecision?

1- I’d rather be too early than too late (in the season, migration, spawn, etc.).

2- If I can’t decide where I want to go, I decide how I want to fish and pick a lake that it might work on. Might have to pivot but at least there is a shot of doing the think you enjoy first.

3- all else fails/equal- go where no one else is going to be. At least if I’m by myself and nature I can enjoy that.

I agree. For some reason I don’t like fishing around other boats. I guess it’s because the main lake fish is small (28 acres) so there isn’t too much water to cover. My favorite thing is fishing in the morning with no other boats.
