Looking for a spinning reel.

Featured Replies

My birthday is coming up and I'm looking for a spinning reel but not sure what to get. I was looking at the daiwa sol 2500. Can you guys recommend any other 2500 reels that I should look at that you guys like.

I agree! ;D

Well, I like my Stradics, and my partner likes his Daiwa Tierra 2500.  It's all in what your budget allows...

The Stradic 2000FH is the best value in the Shimano line-up.

Strong, smooth, silent and reliant.

For $120 this is a great reel that will last for many years. The reel is perfect right out of the box, but oddly, gets even better over time. On the other-hand, if price is no object, the Shimano Stella 2500FB is the ultimate spinning reel,  "Indescribably delicious!"

I just bought a Pflueger Supreme Magnesium spinning reel and am pretty impressed with its light weight, castability, drag and smoothness. I bought the 8035MG model which is pretty much the same size as the 2500's. I'll be buying a couple more in the very near future.
