Well now THAT'S a fine howdy-doo!

My fishing buddy caught a nice-sized smallie on a hula grub, and had a difficult time getting the hook out because the fish was thrashing around. In fact, he struggled quite a bit and took longer than usual to get him freed, to the point I offered to help, but he said he had it....and he worked on it for awhile longer.

Well, no wonder! That fish trashed his hand-poured football jig!

Ever see a fish do that before? I haven't!

Must have been at least a nine pound smallmouth. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Never saw that before.

Was the hook made of solder ?
