Susky weekend

It’s been awhile since I made an actual report. On Saturday 7/11 we were crushing smallies on top water. Had a great morning and than the bite died. I also broke the skeg off my terrova.

On Sunday 7/12 we struggled big time. Had some small bites but, nothing consistent. We even made some big runs on the shallow susky hoping to find some fish in different areas. Very slow day. GPTempDownload.jpegGPTempDownload.jpegGPTempDownload.jpegIMG_2530.jpeg

@TnRiver46 it’s funny because I broke it July 12 last year and July 11 this year. 😂 it’s not getting replaced or fixed anytime soon.

There are bolt on skegs for trolling motors. Your slow day is like my regular day.

@Alex from GA I didn’t know that do you have any info on them? I eventually am going to weld one on again.

@TnRiver46 cast aluminum sucks to weld. I was thinking maybe just welding more on than drilling holes and bolting something that way. To weld it I’m going to have to pull out the motor itself. I want to make something that if I do it again it has a different fail point that I can hopefully just fix it without welding. Or get a garmin TM 😂

If you’re running skinny you’re getting after them 👍

You broke your skeg it must have been a pretty solid rock.

You might need a push pole. I carried one in my boat. They come in handy once in a while.

Keep putting the work in!

@Dooger thanks man! A push pole really isn’t the issue I’ll be up on plane than. I just drifted into a rock. it’s my second one. I don’t think the skegs on the newer Minn kotas are as strong. My guess is they are using cheaper casting either strength wise or its thinner. I think I cane up with something that will work.
