Reel price range

Featured Replies

If you are going to buy a typical reel for you. What price range would it be in?

For me it is prob $50 to $80 before tax / ship

If I don't like a reel, no price will lure me in.

If I truly want a reel, no price will scare me off.

I like Calcutta's because they fit my hand, their gear ratio fits my style of fishing, and they are extremely relievable. So for my personal happiness I'll gladly spend the $200 dollars required to purchase one.

I voted 130 to 200 some reason when i see a stx revo or sx i need it 12 so far and 4 revo -s im getting close to the amount of Garcia C3,s and C4,s i have

I voted $130-$200 range.  I have never paid more then $200 before tax or shipping for one and I own 14 reels that range from $299 to $599.  5 of them have been gifts and all the rest have been bought on sale or clearance.  My latest being 2, TDZ 105 leftys that retailed for $369 and bought at $199.

It depends. I think you can get a lot of reel for the money for a spinning reel at the Shimano Symetre so according to your listing. However for a baitcast reel two hundred is about as high as I'm willing to with the exception of a Pixy I want to buy.

I used to be in the $50 to $80 range, with all the Abu garcia C3's,4's,&5's I have, but the last two purchases were a Record $139.99 and a Revo SX $149.99................I must be getting up in the world.

I went with the 130-200 because the reels I have been buying would fall here. However, my spinning reels are less. Nothing I have bought has been over 200. With that said if there was something I like for less that 130 I would not hesitate at all but right now I just can't see going over 200 for one reel.

For me I'm thinking 30 to 70. I just got a Shimano Sahara for 60 and was cringing at that.

I had to vote $200 - $300 because I'm addicted to the Diawa TD-X reels (5 - mostly HSDF), + 1 - Zillion 100SHA, and 1 - TD-ito 103M. My retired fleet consists of several different Diawas and 1 Shimano Citica. I am a diehard Diawa baitcaster fan and have been using them since the PL series came out 20+ yrs ago(I've never owned a spinning reel).

But it doesn't matter if you use a Zebco 202 as long as it works for what you want and makes you happy it's all Great!

;)

(Edit: OOPS - I lied........I have some kind of spinning reel in the closet that has never been out of the box that I got as a gift yrs ago ;))
