We have discussed rods for flipping and pitching but not much has been said about reels for this.  I know the requirements aren't too much for flipping but pitching does involve the reel in actually casting.  I use 20-25 pound mono and 30-40 pound braid for this.  Any reel suggestions?

I use the same reels I use for anything else. Although I prefer externally adjustable reels so I can easily switch from pitching and casting. I don't have a "pitching" rod so I never felt the need for a specific reel. I usually use my worming rig.

TD-Z 105 for me.

I don't need to flip, so I use my (97) CU201B for pitchin..

Find a Daiwa Procaster-X on Ebay..... on my pitching rods....I use them and cant believe what I got for the $. The old X's make the new procasters are junk......

I also have a Abu Garcia 2005lp on a 7' flipping stick...Its just a reel really... Good reel to hold line and a decent drag... Easy to maintain.

One thing I hate about this board is that you cant read a thread late or you are just adding a "ditto" to the post.  There are just too many knowledgeable people on this board with good opinions!

I just picked up a Shimano CU201DHSV to go with my Loomis BCFR893.  I have yet to use it, though will post my thoughts on it once I do.

Except for crankbaits & buzzbaits, I pitch everything sometimes. Every reel I've got is a pitching reel from time to time. JMHE

Truthfully, I never do any "flipping", but use short-range pitching instead.

As for "pitching", that's done with any rod that happens to be in my hand.

As it happens, my Shimano Stradic and Symetre spinning reels do the lion's share of my pitching...they're the Hoot!

Ditto on this.  Before I got over the frustration of using the baitcaster this year, I was pitchin with my spinning reels as well.  I'll pretty much use any rod that is within closest reach

using a Powell 764 and 805 both paired with a Daiwa Advantage 153 HST. These reels just fit my hand very well. I've got a few older Daiwa's with a pitchin' switch but they just aren't as sturdy.
