Pick one for your all your T-rig applications?

Featured Replies

I am going to get a Mossyback Loomis BCR803 or BCR804.  I am having a tough time making a decision.  Help me choose one for most T-Rig applications.  Thanks!

Any particular reason why you want a Mossyback ? for 25 bones more I would go without thinking it much straight for an MBR783C in IMX. Shipping is going to cost you the same.

Well, I thought the Mossyback rods were more technique specific (Jig&Worm)??  Are the IMX rods better??

The Mossyback is located between the GL3 and the IMX, I have GL2s, IMXs and GLXs, from all of them the best bang for the buck are the IMXs, it 's lighter and a lot more sensitive than the GL2, a hair heavier and just an itsy bitsy less sensitive than the GLX but costing 120 bones less.

The scale would go in ascending order:

GL2

GL3

Mossyback

IMX

GLX

I don 't think those extra 2" in length in the BCR are going to make that rod more sensitive than a MBR IMX 2" shorter.

The Mossybacks are better suited for fishing plastics and jigs because they have an extra fast taper. I'd go with either the BCR803 or BCR804 depending on the size/weight lures you plan to use.

I have the BCR803 GLX and it works great for all my T-rigged plastic.  When I purchased it I did look at the 804 and I thought it was a little to heavy.  The 803 is the most sensitive rod I have ever fished with.

Just in case, what reel and what line are planning on using?  Also, what plastic are planning on using?

BCR804 has a fast tip, BCR803 has a an extra fast tip.

If I have to choose between the two....I prefer the MBR 844 IMX for T-rigs.

all of you have been a great help!  I'll let you know what I get.

If you get an IMX; get the 784.   The 803 is equivalent in power to the 784, and I just feel the 783 is a little too light.
