Not sure if this is the right place or not but I've seen others note sales and such.  I was just at Dick's and picked up 2 St. Croix AVID spinning rods for 79.99 each.      Given the price tags were 159.99, I thought it may be a good deal.  When I got home, I checked on line to see if others have similar deals but couldn't find anyone else this low.    Selection is limited due to the time of year, but I found 2 for plastics, both 7' medium power and one fast and the other extra fast.

AWWW MAN....your really tempting me.....im trying to hide my addiction from my wife but  she will definately notice a couple new rods on the rack..not to mention the new reels id have to get to go with them ;D ;D

The current Avids are being discontinued for a newer model.  Many stores, including BPS, are putting the Avids on clearance.  

Volpster, like you, I had to resist.  

thye have been on sale at dicks since late June.  Here, at the beginning of July, they were practically sold out as everyone bought the Avids up for a 50-75mile radius of here.

Unfortunately there are no Avids to be had at my nearest Dick's. :'(

And the other models ain't on sale....I asked!

hey man, you said you asked and they other models wer'nt on sale. Just a suggestion but have it scanned. I ended up with a premier and two avids, all on sale. The staff did'nt know they were marked down. On another occasion, I called to ask about an abu revo and the guy said they were'nt on sale, so I asked about the avids. Again he said "no" and got annoyed.  > I asked him to scan all of the items and it turned out that the avids were marked down. It was hard for him to say the price with his foot in his mouth though.

Only the Avids are being marked down because of the new models that are coming in.

From my research if you want premiers that are marked down than visit reeds outdoors store online.

But the pickings are slim and they may already be sold out.
