Pinnacle Reels?

pinnacle is made by silstar.they are decent reels.silstar makes reels for numerous companies.i'm not sure if they make reels assembled or parts of reels for other companies.bps reels have plenty of parts that look like pflueger parts.i can never get a clear answer on this with any proof from any where.in the end i don't think it matters.car manufacturers share parts all the time.chrysler makes an engine with mitisubishi and hyundai.nothing in this world is brand exclusive any more.just find a reel you like and go with it.

I own one pinnacle reel (extant HS metal baitcaster) I've fished it hard for close to 3 years. I got it cheap and have never serviced it. I keep saying I'll replace it when it breaks down but the darn thing refuses to die!!!

I think the new ones are beautiful looking reels, and they are priced cheap. I wouldn't hesitate to pick up another one down the road.

I got one on a combo once for a b-day gift, and was upset b/c it didn't say shimano or abu on the side.  I'm such a snob.  Has worked great, and b/c of the rod it was on it is my main walk the dog type bait topwater reel.  Don't know if I would buy one for myself, but if the question is has it broken, malfuncitoned or not been able to do something I asked it to then the answer is no.  If someone ever give me another one I'll slap it on a rod and start fishing it.

Pinnacle supposedly makes BPS branded reels. BPS reels, are by and large, well regarded. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Pinnacle reel if I liked it and it fit my budget.

i own a pinnacle lucille spinning reel...id say its o.k , but doesnt compare to my shimano symetre...it works good  but it feels "cheap" next to a shimano.im not saying its junk, but i wouldnt buy another one

Hey Piinacle makes the CABELA'S ZX They are on sale now for 40.00 bucks. Cabela's will readily service them, aluminum frame and outside cast control ;)

outside cast control ;)

Who puts his thumb inside the reel?  ;D

(I know.  I'm beating a dead horse, but so do lots of other guys around here.)

I have a couple of the Pinnacle Matrix reels from the first generation of the Pinnacle Metal series....they are the chrome finish, 10BB models. Those reels are tough, they cast good and the drags are silky smooth. I still use them on a regular basis and have no issues with them. Pinnacle still makes a Matrix now with 7BB's, chrome finish and can easily be had on eBay for way less than $100.
