What reels/rod  (baitcasters) do yall prefer for flipping heavy cover and for hours at a time.

I use a Dobyns 766FLIP. It's a 7'6" Heavy Ex-Fast Rod. This was the rod that turned me into a believer of Dobyns rods. It's light, strong and balanced nicely. For a flipping reel I haven't found one much better than a Revo. Mainly because of the drag. I can put heavy line on that think and crank the drag all the way down and it won't slip. With a drag setting at 16 to 18 lbs it's awesome.

What are you spooling the Revo with?  I was debating the Premier or Metanium because they are so lite but do they have the guts pulling the fish out of heavy cover?

All Star American Classic (AC FRH) 7'6" H/XF with Shimano Curado 200 DHSV.  I haven't used it much at all but I've played with it a lot and it will do a great job.

I want lite.  I have A 200 Curado and it's far from lite.  Nothing more tiring than flipping all day with 14-16 oz rod and reel.

Yeah, but my rig will pull a Chevy out of cover.

Shimano Castiac, don't know if I spelled it right, but I love mine, used a curado before this year, both are good choices, atleast for me

why not try a daiwa alphas or a prixy ..... update the drag with carbonex and you should be fine ....  :)
