Gamma Fishing Line

Featured Replies

I have been using this line for a while now in both salt & freshwater and have been really pleased with the line strength, knot strength, and abbrasion resistance it has.  Anyone else been using this stuff and have any feedback on it?

I too have been using the Gamma this past year. I think it is a GREAT line. This year it will be on 80% of my reels, and I also like the Sufix brand too.

You didn't say whether you were talking about copolymer or fluorocarbon.  I've used some 10# copolymer and it was a good line, but I couldn't see that it justified the premium price.

I like the Copoly line.  If you buy two spools, you get one free by mail.  So not a bad deal for the money.

The fluorocarbon is another story.  It is fantastic line but, IMHO, it is not worth the high cost.

I've been using the copolymer for 2 years now.  I like to know where you guys buy yours at because it's not that expensive to me.

yeah the copolymer is pretty decent i hated the flourocarbon though huge waste of money

Sorry, it was the copolymer line.  Only paid $7.50 for the spool.  I also have been trying the Suffix line as well, there is a pretty good rebate on them as well when you buy 2 spools.

I really like the Copoly, been using it for top-water last year. I tried there Flouro, and I didnt like it at all.

I've used the Fluorocarbon in 6#, 8# and 10# mostly and have been very impressed with it - especially the 6# on spinning gear. It seems more like 10# in it's tensile strength. By whoa doggies - the cost!

I'll be throwing some 16# fluoro and also their copolymer in 14# at Amistad in a few weeks, so we'll see what I think after that..

I used it as my primary line last year, and love it.  It is on all my reels except my crankbait rod, and that is Suffix, and I really like it as well.

I also have been using Suffix perfomance braid a little and I like the line, i just can't develope a lot of confidence in it because I keep thinking it is too visible underwater, so if I am not catching a lot of fish using it, I always assume it is because of its visibility underwater.  Of course, I have the same problem with any braided line.  I really like how it performs, it casts well and stays pretty tight on the spool.
