Joining the Carrot Club...

I want another crankbait rod(s), and while my CBR's are everything and more than I want in a crankbait rod; I just want to try something different.  The Carrot Stick offers a couple of moderate action blanks, but even the fast Carrot blanks seem more mod-fast.  Couple that with a lifetime warranty and they have the resume' I require in a rod.  I've decided to put Scorpions on them with Bassart handles and cork knobs.  I want to buy a few Scorpions before they quit making them anyway.  Not the mg...the dark burgundy original.

That is going to be one ugly combo ;)

Actually, I'd describe the color of the original Scorpions as Barney Purple.

Rainbow long billed cap, chartreuse blouse, pink capris and white flip-flops.

Man, that's a pretty picture!

This will be one review I'll be waiting on. ;)

There's no shame in my game!  I liked the looks of those bright orange sticks from the get-go.  Me likey some bold colors  8-) 8-)

I just don't care for the short "nub" of a rear grip right behind the real seat.  It just isn't comfortable to me when casting.  I guess if that isn't an issue then go for it.  Going to be hard to be the CBR's though!

Those scorpions would look good on the Airrus puls-r's

Can't be any uglier than my Stradic/Carrot combo....

Haven't hung the Sol on it yet.

Just picked up the rods.  I have to say, the fit and finish is excellent; they are built very nicely.  Neat and tidey guide wraps and perfect epoxy.  I dig the red aluminum trimmings on the reel seat and handle as well.  You can tell it's 3.1ozs  ;) 8-).  I stole my new Core's from my XMG 50's just for some pics.

Here they are in all their vegetable glory!

Very nice aesthetics...attention to detail is great.

I forgot to add that I was amazed that E21 chose to wrap and put red aluminum trim underneath the reel seat; I've never seen a manufacturer do that.  I'm speaking of the small section of exposed blank underneath the reel seat.  It's one of those things they didn't have to do, but I noticed  ;)

Welcome to the club my friend.

After seeing the Core mounted to the Carrot, I found myself mumbling nonsense for at least 10 minutes. I really love my Carrot Stix. It is so light and effortless to fire a small crank waaaaaay out there. I was looking to trade mine due to the fact that I purchase the wrong action rod, but after using it for it's intended purpose........NO REGRETS!!!!

I was surprised when my casting rod came in. My spinning rod doesn't have the red winding checks. Very comfy with the Revo on it, can't wait to spool some line and try it out. Congrats!

I'll add that I was a little off in my assessment that even the fast carrot blanks weren't very fast.  I think during my last trip I was actually playing around with the medium/moderate, but thought I was playing around with the medium heavy/fast.  The line weights are almost identical, with the medium being rated 10-20, and the MH 12-20.  I handled the MH and it was pretty crisp.  They also had the 7'9" flippin' stick, and it was very light for a rod that big (rated up to 3.5ozs).

I have the 7'2" MH Carrot Stix and I love it for mid-depth to deep cranking.  I paired it with a lefty Shimano Metanium MG and it is amazing.  I cannot believe how light this combo feels.  I still love my CBR843C / Curado 101D combo for shallow cranks but the Carrot stix might even be more sensitive (I need a few more trips with the Carrot to determine which I prefer).
