Copolymer with least amount of stretch?

Featured Replies

What copolymer line has the least amount of stretch?  What about the most abrasive resistant and best knot strength?

I would also like to see some testing if you know of any body that has tested any lines extensively.

I'm looking for something in the 14-15 pound range for use on a Steez and a Zillion for finesse jig/t rig uses.

Thanks.

Nobody has an opinion on this?

Come on guys/gals, lets here about it.

i like the P-Line X-tra strong copolymer, has a small diameter for co-poly and is very castable in higher lb test.

I have been experimenting with #15 Yo-Zuri Hybrid (original formula, 21.5 lb test).

This line retains a little more memory than I would prefer, but KVD Lure & Line treatment has helped address that issue. I don't notice any stretch, but I know that cannot be technically true.

Strength? Well, this is the strongest line you can fish and still break off if you need to when you're hung up. I don't believe a freshwater fish could break this line even with your drag cranked all the way down!

I fish "The Rocks From Hell". Abrasion is a not an issue, none whatsoever.

No special knot is required.

Pline CXX is what I prefer.  It's pretty much a no-nonsense, non-apologetic line as in it is ridiculously strong, abrasion resistant, low-stretch, and with that comes some memory as well.  Trilene Sensation proved to be equally as low stretch in a recent test, but I'm still undecided on this line as far as knot strength.  I'd just buy a couple of filler spools of a few brands and see which one you prefer.  I use CXX in the clear...

I agree CXX is just great. Trilene also use to make Iron Silk which was tough as all heck. They never made it in clear though and took it off the market. I have landed all sorts of things with Iron Silk at the end of a crankbait it just would not break. Much like CXX.

I use Silver Thread Excalibur and have for years, and have not had any problems with line stretch. It's the only line I use that's not fluro or braid.

I agree.  I switched over to YZ Hybrid 12# on my plastics rigs.  I hated it at first, and it was a disaster on my spinning rigs.  But once I got used to it on my plastics rigs, it's the best I've used yet.  I can't detect any appreciable stretch, either.  And it transmits vibrations extraordinarily well.

Gamma, I started to use this line last year and I love that stuff. Give it a try,GREAT line.

If your goal is minimal "line-stretch", there's nothing to prevent you from spooling up with braided line,

then attaching the copolymer leader of your choice.
