crankbait knot

Featured Replies

I use the palmar knot connected to a snap if I am doing alot of switching baits. If you use a spinning combo make sure you have on a barrel swivel to take out the spin in the line.

Rapala Knot

ok, thanks, so i don't need to tie a loop not for the lure to work correctly, i can snug the line right down onto the lure eye

I use a plain snap, and tie a polymar to that. NO SWIVEL , just a plain snap. I t doesn't affect the lure and it makes it easier to change lures.

Most of the time I'll use the Palomar. On long baits like a Devil's Horse, a Trilene knot is easier. Passing that loop (Palomar) around the whole bait without using 3' ;Dof line is a real pain...

What is the draw back to using a snap? I don't know anyone that uses them. The only thing I have ever heard is that they have a strong chance of bending out of shape and losing your lure. How true is this?

What is wrong with tying a rapala knot onto a snap and then add that to the crank bait?

Remove split ring and use a Palomar to Duolock snap.
