water color dictates that.

In my opinion green would be your best bet in most water situations. Only if the water is crystal clear would I use clear. I dont even have a clear spool, I use Yo Zuri Hybrid 8# and 12# green for everything.

I use green the most too, but I fish ponds that are pretty weedy and grimey.

My Favorite, the only line I use is Cabela's Pro Line in Clear/blue flourescent

Clear for me.   I mostly fish clear water so I stick with clear line and it seems to work fine in the mud too.

I have used both and have been using green this year. I fish with the same guy 90% of the time and he uses clear. I cannot honestly say that I have noticed a difference. Just comfort level, meaning whatever you are comfortable with.

We fish water that at times is VERY clear, still no noticeable difference. (to me)

I find it easier to see the clear above the water when line watching (after reading that, I know it doesn't seem to make sense, but it is true).

I use gold or orange mono.  But that's for trout fishing, and I use a leader .  For bass, I use CXX Copoly, and its the moss color.  I personally don't think it matters that much.  When it does, I use fluorocarbon.

Right now I mostly fish green. I just have more confidence in it, since I tend to fish fairly dark water

Don 't got any trubble differentiating 17 lbs test though, that thing is as thick as rope so it 's easy to identify.
