Which reel would you get the Pfleuger President or the Pfleuger Medalist? Both are around $70. Is there a better reel for the money?

I have all Shimano, with one President thrown in.

The President is a super reel.

I suggest the President.

in their Christmas catalog. Otherwise, save some

money and by the FJ for $100. Many members of

the Shimano Posse consider this the "best value"

in the Shimano line-up.

I bought one, I like it a lot! The "trickle down" from the higher end series is very apparent. It feels a lot like the older Stradics to me. I just wish they wouldnt have eliminated the 1500 size. That was a great size for the smallie fishing I do

The president is a really smooth reel but a little heavy but has a good smooth drag .

IMHO If you want something from Pflueger better than a Presidant skip the Medalist and go to the Supreme. I own all 3 (and a Trion too), but I use the Medalist the least, and only own one, I have several Presidants and Supremes.
