Fenwick Rods

Featured Replies

Looking to see who likes/dislikes their fenwick rods. I am looking into buying a bunch of HMX's or the HMG's to replace my current spinning rods. Also looking for a flipping stick, im looking at the Allstar, Berkley series one, and fenwicks (HMX & HMG) due to the fact a buddy is getting them for me half off. THanks for all the input.

JUMP ALL OVER THOSE HMX'S and HMG's Among the best value out there. at half price that's a great deal. I have used them for years with great results and not one issue. There will be guys hawking other rods, because the give a life time warranty, which is good, but then again when the rod breaks you can't fish with a warranty, especially when they get wet ;D

I have never had a Fenwick break or not perform , never not once.

I love the HMG's I caught my personal best (11.8) in Florida a couple years ago on  a7' med. spinning rod.  I think they are just as sensitive as my loomis, just heavier.

My only experience is with 2 Techna AV casting rods.  When I finally tied a jig to the 1st, I was so excited by its sensitivity that I went out and purchased another.  I cannot compare it to high end rods, but I do find the Techna AVs noticably more sensitive than my Crucial spinning rod.  My 1st HMG should be arriving tomorrow.  It was on of those super, unadvertised Amazon deals (<$29 including the free shipping)  ;D

1/2 of my rods are Fenwicks (HMX's, HMG's, and Techna AV's), the other 1/2 are St. Criox's (Premiers, Avids, and Legend Tournaments).  I would buy more Fenwicks in a heartbeat. Dollar for Dollar the HMX's and HMG's are better VALUES than the St Croixs in the same price range. I don't feel the Techna's are worth the same as the Legend Tournaments or more than the Avids. The HMX and HMG beat the Premier hands down, and give the Avid a run for it's money for far less. If I had to fish with one series of rods exclusivly it would be the Fenwick HMX, they have an excellant range of lengths and powers, and are much less expensive than they deserve to be..........don't tell Fenwick that, I like that I can buy them cheap.

I agree with the above opinions.  The HMXs and HMGs are excellent rods.

ive said it before-fenwicks are great rods, the only rods i use for the most part.I would put them up there with most high end rods.

If you are getting them half off. I really like those rods.

The only rods I have are fenwick and shimanos. They are excellent rods. The series 1 rod is a great value as well.

While I don't own any now, if I were to change brands to something other than All Star, Fenwick would be the brand I'd change to.  Great rods.
