BPS has their higher end poles and i recently bought one (Cant remember the modle) Tournament PRo or somthing like that - but it was a bit more than a Mojo from St Croix.

You will be fine with your BPS rod.

The J/M Elite rod I bought is much more bang for the buck than any Loomis rod I could have gotten.......And while my Loomis rod is an entirely different rod, I still think the Elite is probably more sensitive.

I like my shimano rods bc of the lifetime warranty!

You still get what you pay for.  I it seems like private label rods (cabelas, BPS, Gander mtn. etc) use modules to measure the quality and price of a rod.  If you have read anything about rods that is a hard way to compare rods because there is no universal measurement and there are different qualities of graphite as well.  Companies like St. Croix, Loomis, Shimano rarely say anything about the modules count they let their reputation speak for themselves.  I am not saying you get crap with a private label rod, but there is a reason 1 rod sells for $80 and another sells for $280, the real question is, is the extra money worth it to YOU!!!!!

Get the rod that fits your budget and the purpose you are going to use it for and you will be happy with it.

By the way I chose St. Croix because that is the rod I CHOOSE to fish, but it is all personal preference-- st croix customer service is awesome and they have totally won me for life.

Personally, I'd take any BPS rod from the Pro Qualifier-level and up over a Mojo.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it just a Premier with a split grip? I have no interest in the Premier, and feel the same way about the Mojo.

The BPS JM elite with recoil guides is an AWESOME rod.  It is very sensitive and on sale during the spring classic for $150.  Much more rod than you will get for the same money from most companies.

Sorry, don't mean to jack the thread but do you like the recoil guides? I have been interested in some rods that have them but I've heard mixed reviews about them being noisy. Have you had any problems with them?

Lose? Lose what? Have you fished your new rod yet? I was at BPS last week, looking for new rod. Tried many, including the Mojo. Walked out with a BPS rod. BPS, as well as Cabela's make fine rods. The best? No. Suitable? Certainly. I, personally, have to take into account $$$ versus my hobby, so I have to be careful. Just MHO.

I personally enjoy my Pro Qualifier and probably would choose it over the Mojo

I haven't tried the mojo rods but I love my avids.

I haven't noticed any more noise vs hardloy, alconite etc. But I wasn't using braid.......I suspect that increased noise is with braid.

Using braid the recoil quiedes are quite load.  I love the elite series rod though very sensitive and a awesome stick. I have two bps reels and they are top notch for me also.

Using braid the recoil quiedes are quite load. I love the elite series rod though very sensitive and a awesome stick. I have two bps reels and they are top notch for me also.

my elite with recoils makes less noise with braid than my signature series with braid and sic guides.

You could be right, it may be the power pro on the elite series. I got stealth on my frog rod and its much quiter.   Again I think the recoils are great quiedes. I would not hesitate to get a BPS elite series.
