I have a little problem with the two set-ups i have braid on. The green color is "bleeding" all over my cork grips. They are now green and i can't get it off! My pretty split grip handles guys! It is annoying the hell out of me! Anyone else having this problem, how do you get it off?

I use spiderwire stealth and I get it on my thumb when I am pitchin' and flippin' and it gets on the top of my reel but nothing on my grips.  What kind of braid are you fishing?  I am guessing that its actually coming from your hands but I suppose it could be coming from your wet line if it bleeds that bad.  Bummer.

Magic eraser? I use FireLine Braid on one reel and Suffix on the other. I actually saw in my tests that both bled less than PP. The stain is just on the top half of the upper cork grips. I don't think it is from my hands because i only get it on my thumb while flippin'/pitchin'.

Yes, at the gorcery store cleaning products. Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

I clean my cork handles with denatured alcohol.  It seems to get the PP Red off the cork.  It also cuts the sweat stains.

I've been having the same problem with my red PP.  It's the first time I've used the red and while all the braid colors and brands I've used have lost their color this is the first time that it's come off all over my reel, hands, and everything it touches.  The crazy thing is I even reeled all the line off the reel and onto another bc while running it through a cloth soaked in rod and reel cleaner, then reeled it back onto the original bc through the cloth again, TWICE and it's still coming off when I fish with it!!!!

As for the magic eraser, it does a great job on everything else I've tried it on so it might work, but I guess it depends on how much the cork actually soaked up the color.  Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

LOL, i actually did the whole clothe wipe down thing as well! Except i used soap and water on the clothe. I may just have to go back to fluoro on my flippin' sticks!

Now that i think about it, one of the rods has a layer of U40 Cork Seal on it! I thought that was suppose to protect the cork!?!

Take some baking soda and add water to a paste. Rub and rinse. Makes them look like new

If the above doesn't clean it out, you'll need to lighly sand the cork to get it out. In either case, once you do get it out, clean it off good and then apply a cork sealer. And then clean/reapply every so often as it will wear off.

I have Sufix on one setup and it has never bled. The others I use Fireline Crystal so green isn't an issue with those.

I use 30lb PP braid in green for jigs and NEVER saw this bleeding color thing happen.

I don't understand how some are saying that their PP or Suffix doesn't bleed!?! Those two are the worse at it IMO! FireLine seems to do it least or at least the slowest!

I had sufix that bled all over my rods handle! I only use power pro!.I also had spiderwire stealth bleed on all over my hands and rod and rod handle.

the fireline does it the least but it's the nature of the beast.just clean them like the guys said and you'll be ok.my fireline braid has actually stopped loosing color but is still a good shade of green.

YOU.............this is all your fault, you got me into this dodeguy! LOL, Just kidding man! Thanks for putting me on to the FireLine, i really liked it! I have some on a Revo SX that has almost stopped losing color and it matches the lily pads PERFECTLY!!!!!!

I think cork handles that are green stained and have pock marks are cooler than shiny new ones personally  .  Suffix bleeds bad I must admit, but I have had luck with Daiwa's Samurai.

To heck with braid .

Same here.  New line might give me a little green thumb, but thats it.

I get green thumb when I spool the line, and after the first trip. I've heard that the cheap stuff stains your hand.

although i did not read all the responses to this one, i must say that in the 6 to 7 months that i have been using suffix braid, i have not had any bleeding prob's...... just the usual line fade.....

that seems to be the case with all braids......????????
