Good price for Loomis????

Featured Replies

I need some help, on our local buy and trade website southeasttexas.com there is a guy selling loomis rods. for $125 each or all 4 for $450. They are glx 6'8 fast, 7' glx heavy,7'1 glx x fast, and mossy back 7'3 fast. He says they are like new. That's all the info that is listed. No pics though. :-?I am not familiar with Loomis so is this a good price?

most single glx rods cost around 400 bucks ... so yea that would be a great deal ... if anything the guy may be sponcered by loomis ... if thats the case i could see why he would sell the rods so cheap ... id be very carfull dealing with this guy ...  ;)

Sounds like a good deal, but this could be a scam. I don't mean to discourage you but with everybody and their cousin building rods today it could be a fake.

It sounds like one of those deals that is too good to be true.

Steer clear...that's way too cheap even for a quick sale.

:-?

Ive never bought or seen a "like new" GLX for less than $200 and only 1 at that price (seller was broke and lost job). Most in "like new" condition are at least $250-$275. Check eBay for pricing.

If you are still considering the purchase from that seller, I would be sure to do a closeup hands on inspection and maybe have some close up retail pics of the same rods for comparison.

Odds are if the rods are not genuine the seller will balk when you ask to inspect the rods.

That is very cheap for GLX rods.  I'd take a look.  Who knows, there are some really good deals to be had right now.
