Stren Line

Recommended Posts

I have been a big fan of this line for a long time. I have always used the mono clear 17# test. For the past month I have been unable to find any. I guess Stren must have a problem with the machine that makes it or something. They may be trying to get rid of all that high dollar fluorocarbon before they make any more. :;)

Try some of the Suffix Elite in the mean time, very similar to original stren, but with a little less memory. You might even like it better.

Used orig. Stren (12lb) for more than 25 years, still use it for cranks. Went to co-poly (Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft) for less stretch...

Mr. frogtog,

Here's a deal for you:

Buy a spool of Yo-Zuri Hybrid #12 and spool up two

baitcasters. Fish it a few times and if you don't like

the line I will pay for it.

X4

Sufix Elite isn't going anywhere, and you'll soon forget about Stren ;)

Ditto on the Sufix. I used Trilene for years until I found Sufix on clearance last year for $4 a spool. I was very impressed with it.
