I have been a big fan of this line for a long time. I have always used the mono clear 17# test. For the past month I have been unable to find any. I guess Stren must have a problem with the machine that makes it or something. They may be trying to get rid of all that high dollar fluorocarbon before they make any more. :

Try some of the Suffix Elite in the mean time, very similar to original stren, but with a little less memory. You might even like it better.

I'll second what Chris said about Suffix Elite.

Been using Stren for years and tried Suffix Elite.

Like it better than Stren.

 Used orig. Stren (12lb) for more than 25 years, still use it for cranks. Went to co-poly (Yo-Zuri Ultra Soft) for less stretch...

I have never used stren so I can't give a good comparison, but I also really like suffix elite.

Sufix Elite isn't going anywhere, and you'll soon forget about Stren

Ditto on the Sufix. I used Trilene for years until I found Sufix on clearance last year for $4 a spool. I was very impressed with it.
