Any of you have a particular bait that works well for you when it's choppy on the lake?

        I think mine is a big spinnerbait so far.Haven't had that much success in the wind though. :'(

Rattle trap, spinnerbait, jerkbait (clear water).

My most productive things to do when it is windy are

1) Burn a spinnerbait.  (Especially a Screaming Eagle)

2) Lipless Crank

3) Deep Crank (3/4oz Fat Free Shad, DD22, Lucky Craft Flat CB D20)

4) Jerk Bait

Lipless cranks, spinnerbaits, and heavy jigs with rattles.

super spook or ss jr, and chatterbait

A Colorado/Indiana white/scale spinnerbait.

Might surprise you but a Buzz Bait will work well on choppy water  

Carolina rig with a 3/4 ounce or 1 ounce weight.

3/4 oz. white spinnerbait w/ Big gold willows,a 5/8 oz old Rogers "alphabet' shallow crank, and a 3/4 oz. original BOMBER.

Let me share a story of how wind can affect the bite.  Once while fishing a tournament , me and my partner had flipped the heck out of some flooded brush with various plastics.  Not even a bite.  We pulled out to deeper water and began fishing a drop off.  The wind began to gust, creating waves that were crashing into the brush we had just fished.  We pulled back over to the brush and began flipping again.  We caught our limit in about 20 minuits.  A great lesson learned

Spinnerbait, chatterbait, but any bait you like to throw will work. Wind is awesome, used to hate it, but now I don't mind to see it.

x2  forgot that one,especially if it is overcast,maybe a light rain and windy as heck.A buzz will mop the floor with em!

Another vote for the buzzbait. I tie on my double bladed buzz and chuk it as far as i can...works almost every time!
