2 rods...1 spinning, 1 baitcaster what line would you use

Featured Replies

I usually rig my bait-caster with fluorocarbon, because I fish mostly plastics with it. My spinning reel I put mono-filament on, and primarily use crank-baits with it. Anyone have advice on if I should change my types of line or should I flip- flop my reels for what I use them for

for worms you might try braid and for cranks try the fluorocarbon .

Spinning equipment:

Yo-Zuri Hybrid or Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 (.010" diameter, 11.9 lb breaking strength)

Baitcasting gear:

Hybrid or Ultra Soft #12 (.013" diameter, 19.5 lb breaking strength)

I'd probably go:

8# BPS Flourocarbon on spinning (finesse, shaky, small crankbaits, jerkbaits)

15-17# Mono on baitcaster (topwater, shallow-mid crankbaits, spinner/buzz baits, jigs)

Hope that helps... :)

it is mostly about what techniques you like to fish. with the cranks, do you fish lipped or lipless? heavy cover or open water? Short or long casts? Here is a link to a "fishing line guide" that I mostly agree with:
