Best Time To Buy Electronics?
So it sounds like I can expect to pay at a place like Universal Mania what I would have to wait for a sale price at the normal places? I still have to sell my old aluminum so it wont happen right away, but this does sound like a good alternative to waiting until black Friday!

Best Time To Buy Electronics?
Hello everyone. I have pretty much just been an observer here for a while. Just last week I bought a new-to-me Ranger R70. Now its time to rig it to my needs, and that includes adding a side imaging unit. I am specifically going to avoid mentioning which brand because my mind is made up and it should effect the answer to my question. The debates can get pretty ugly and I want to avoid them in this post. I can be patient buying the electronics if it would mean saving a good amount of money. I will not get into tournaments in this boat until next June. But obviously if there isnt much money to be saved i should get it sooner than later so i can become more comfortable with them. So this is a three part question. 1.) When are the best sales for electronics? 2.) Is the sale price worth waiting for? 3.) Any recommendations for websites to purchase from? Thank you in advance

John Crews wins on the Delta
I couldn't believe it when I saw it. One ounce over a 4 day tournament. doesnt get any closer. if one of skeet's keepers didnt spit up on the way in he would have won

Fluorocarbon Newbie

American Rodsmith Denny Brauer Wreckin Stix
The reason I asked is my new Falcon Bucoo will be too little light for 1+oz flippin + pitchin. It is a fantastic rod, and will be great for flipping up to 3/4 oz. But it is not nearly the broomstick I will need for the heavy stuff. the AR wreckin sticks looks like they are some of the best in the market for that purpose. anyone have any suggestions for a comparable rod for 1oz+ flippin + pitchin for that price point or less?

how did everyone do in our fantasy fishing tournament
Im in second right now with 1271 points. Boyd Duckett is killing me. Hope he starts putting some fish in the boat soon!

American Rodsmith Denny Brauer Wreckin Stix
Bass Pro is sold out of em, online! Are these that good, or is their supplier just behind? Has anyone gotten their hands on one?

Does anyone else have this problem?
You don't have to lip the bass. You can grab them on the outside or scoop then from their belly.

Oh boy, here we go .... again !
Now you guys get to see what a warm winter day is like in NY. I was catching largemouth through 8-10" of ice yesterday, and had a great time. We won't see open water for months. I do hope it warms up for you though, but only because I have a BWS tourny on Guntersville in < 2 weeks

Spinn/buzz bait storage?
plano 3543. I have problems with longer buzzbaits and spinnerbaits, so I am waiting for my tackle orders to show up and then figure something out

How bad has your cabin fever gotten?
I took my new baitcaster out to the river a little while ago. The river is still frozen over, so I would just cast onto the ice and retrieve. It was just nice to cast for 10 minutes until I couldnt feel my fingers, resulting in birds nests.

Energy Pt
I am a fan of it. mine is 2-3 yrs old. Used it for a lot of pitching this year so now as much time with long casts

the monkey has struck

Berkley Bionix Rods
I have a couple of the Berkley rods that I am in process of phasing out. My biggest problem with them is the guides. They dig up my line really bad

What is the action on Berkley Amp Rods?
I have the 7'M, and it is SLOW. As for power, acts much more like a ML than a M

my spring arsenal.
Need a topwater bait that can cover a lot of water, buzzbaits and toads work well. x3465583425087 spinnerbaits shad style soft jerkbaits work well too, such as a fluke

What are you guys going to throw in the next couple of months?
We will be playing with tipups and jigging poles up here for a while, until ice-out. Luckily I will make it down south later in the month where I plan to throw some lipless cranks, frogs, swimbaits, and heavy flipping/pitching.

Do You Sleep Well The Night Before A "T"?
I can never fall asleep. Always thinking through what I have tied on for the morning. What the first lure I throw will be. I usually only end up getting a couple hours of sleep.

Fishing Jersey's
http://www.thewinningteam.com/page/fishing Think they are a expensive, but they are really nice

Drop Shot Weights???
depends on the depth and cover you are fishing. You can DS in 6" on water, or 600 feet. You can DS gin clear water, or in thick weeds (aka the Bubba shot). The deeper you are and heavier the cover, the heavier the weight needs to be. 1/8 oz is pretty good for most depths less than 20 ft or so. don't be afraid to increase if it is a windy or choppy day to maintain the bottom feel.

Braid: leader or no leader ?
Clear water up here. I use a fluoro leader when im flippin/pitchin/CR. but frogs on top I just use straight braid.

How to figure payout percentages?
an easy way would be to follow the breakdown of some of the larger organizations, such as http://www.abaproam.com/bwspayout.php. Add up the total payout and find the percentage to each position.

Help with reel speed
You can always slow down, but you can only turn that handle so fast. I suggest a burner.
