Work has interfered with my participation in the forums lately so I apologize if this topic has been covered already.  (I found very little about it in a search of the last three months of the forum.)  I'm trying to wrap my head around the thought of a rod model that is "20% lighter and 20% more impact resistant and 20% more sensitive than GLX" per the Tackletour article below.  If the claims are true these are going to be some wicked rods.

  Kent, you definitely would have to shell out some cash to replace your armada of G.Loomis rods with the new ones.  If they are $500 a pop my wife would have something to say about that purchase and I don't think her words would be very kind.  It's difficult to justify paying that for a rod, when I can do just fine with $150 - $200 rods.  However, I do occasionally slip in a purchase of a high-end rod but I have to pick my spots.

I'm excited, but not sure if I'd be willing to shell out 500 clams for a rod.  We shall see.

Oh, come on, Kent.  You can make some good money from K_Mac and me selling your old, "obsolete" rods and then you can purchase the latest and greatest.   I don't know why you would want to keep that junk anyway.
