I think it's ugly.

I thought this thread was going to be about redlinerobert. LOL ;)

More about show than fishing.  I'd be afraid to get that wet.  So what's the point?

WOW a 6'5" rod that is 5.9oz and a wood handle for $1100.00 THAT Rod IS STONE COLD UGLY ;):D:o

Do guys really fish with rods like this ????

  • Super User

Ok, so it comes with right or left hand grip.....BUT, not everyone holds their rod the same. I hold mine almost entirely by the reel seat and others hold it behind the reel. So it just doesn't make since to me how they could make a rod grip like that that will fit everyone's grip style.

I have 8 rods that I use regularly. All 8 cost me less than the price of this rod. This rod certainly would not be for me, but if a person has the money to fish something that is completely unique more power to him.

The only part I don't like is the wood handle.

This is unreasonalble insanity!

If someone has the money, and likes the rod, then why is it? People pay very high prices for lots of different things.

Does it make breakfast for you or tie the lures on to its own line? ;)

This rod does nothing for me.  I think the 'golden age' of Megabass is over.  Their Slant Bridge rods from 2004-2006 were and always will be the best of the best as far as I'm concerned.

Ugly X10.

Not quite my taste.

I love that reel seat, bet it's unbearable to fish in winter months though.

Agreed, besides this goes with the whole tax breaks for the rich thing.  Let them have their money, trust me they will be dumb with it and give it to you for STUPID things, like a 6'5" rod.  I'm all about it, if I'm the seller!

I'd hardly call it dumb.   Quite a few folks buy these because they collect tackle, and because they can.

No different than paying $1k for a pair of nice cowboy boots when a $100 pair will do the same thing.  ;)

And lets not forget the super expensive cowboy hat to to the part! ;) ;D

I guess I am a complete idiot cause I love my expensive rods and reels.

This ^. In my case you could figure in the cost of the reels too and still not come up to $1100.

Funny thing is, I still catch bass with 'em ;)

If loving high priced fishing gear makes you an idiot, you're in good company here. 8-) I don't have the dollars, but if I did I would probably have high end tackle also. On the other hand, I'm happy with my lower end stuff. It's all good. ;)

I thought the Steez were priced high.....jjjeeeessh!!!

But if you have the money, go for it. ;):D
