falcon, st. croix or all star?

Featured Replies

i am researching all the rod options in my price range and there are 3 brands that are all in the same price range that i am interested in.

i read all the descriptions of each of them and they all seem identical for the most part. Could anyone offer advice on which one would be the best rod for the money?

here they are:

6'-4" All Star rod - $80

6'-6" St Croix Triumph #TRS66LF - $70

6'-0" St Croix premier #PS60LF - $90

5'-9" Falcon #FS2-1-59 - $80

if this has been covered in another thread, please point me in that direction.

thank you

cant give you much advice here seeing as how ive never used a falcon or allstar rod. But i have used st. croix and thats the reason ive never used either of the other two rods. There's just no reason to switch because ive been so happy with st. croix. I started out with a premier, its a great rod, sensitive and light but good quality. And st. croix's customer service is par none. St. Croix would be the way to go IMO

well after researching and reading all the rods that i have to pick from........i have decided to go with the All Star rod.  All the rods seem to be close in comparison, they have the warranty as well and the thing that jumped out was the IM10 blank........

it should be here saturday.  im sure i will be happy with it!!

thanks again for the advice :)

Just FYI there is no industry standard for modulus, so one companies IM-10 could be another's IM-6  ::)

I think you'll be happy with your purchase though  :o
