For my birthday I'm going to try and get a new rod, specifically for throwing 1/8-1/4 oz. t-rigged Rage Craws. My price range is $150-$220. Rod will be paired with a Curado 200e7.

Cumara 7'2 MHF

Falcon Cara t7- don't know what specific model

Any other suggestions?

Your going to buy a whole new set up JUST to fish  t-rigged rage craws??? Seems a little ill-conceived to me but..........it's your money. IMHO get the Avid, and as a bonus, you'll be able to fish other t-rigged baits, as well as jigs with it. :

I like Avids.

You can fish all soft plastics with that rig.

Perfect plastics rod.

I have an Avid. It's a great rod. But, right in your budget, and way cheaper if you can find a sale or go the ebay route, you can get one of the Daiwa Zillions. By far my favorite rods out there. They have so much freaking power yet it feels as if you are holding a cloud. The reel seat is amazing as well and gives you the benefit of an exposed blank for more feel and sensitivity.

I have 2 already and the spinning equivalent, the fuego and I am looking at getting at least 2 more  ;D. The avid would be my second choice.

In that price range, you will get a nice rod for your plastics for sure. I can't say enough good about my Cumara and my Avid.

I mean for other t-rigs as well, and jigs. Basically a bottom presentation rod. Avid sounds good to me too!

I'll have to look into those Zillion rods, they look really sweet!

I recommended three because it depends on what type of cover/structure and other variables you will be fishing.. Avids are good rods also i have one but i prefer the falcon. I like there reel seats, handles, and sensitivity better

I gotta agree with this. I wouldnt even buy a rage craw let alone a specific rod for throwing them. 

Couldnt help myself. Tell ya what, buy yourself a jig rod and fish rage craws with it. Or if yer flippin heavy cover then buy a flippin stick. Personally I buy a Verdict 7'6in MH and a few bags of Brush Hogs.  You still save some bucks while catching more and bigger fish.

I have to agree about the Crucial. I have the M/XF because I primarily use very light t-rigs and Im in love with it.

For rage-craws, I think the MH/XF will be a good choice.

I'm just fishing ponds though. I rarely throw anything other than a Rage Craw, jig, frog, or swimbait. I have a frog/swimbait rod, and a Lowrider 7' HF paired with a Citica and 50/12 PP, which I throw the Craws with now. It just isn't stiff enough, so I want to get something heavier.

Loomis 843 GLX, caught about 40 over 2 days on a t-riged rage crawl on the roadtrip last year.  Its 1 of  2 GLX rods I own and love them both.

The Falcon Cara T7 Weightless Worm rod would be perfect for that.

Trust me, they LOVE the Rage Craw. I like my Vendetta 7'3 HXF for frogs and jigs. I just wanna add a new rod for texas rigs.

I think St Croix Legend Tournament are in that price range, but I don't know much about them.

New Legend tournaments start at $220, and go up from there. If you can find a used one for less than an Avid, I would jump on it. But at new price, Avids IMHO are a better bang for the buck. I have several rods from both series, and while the LT's have the the fancy paint job, and handles, the performance differance between them and Avids has never "wowed" me into thinking I need more of them at the higher price.

I own the cumara you mentioned, easily my favorite rod.

I used to use straight loomis rods, until the cumara.

Well Sean, you might find you like the profile and

action of the Rage Tail line. I have been a GYCB fan

for more than a decade and use a vaiety of other soft

plastics. I find the Rage Tails have some unique

charteristics. You might be surprised.

Back on topic, I just bought a BCR893 which will be used

exclusively for soft plastics. I haven't selected the reel,

but I plan to rotate a few until I find the perfect match!

Just a recommendation on the rod, and not specific. But if you have a H action seems a MH might be a good choice. I also suggest sticking with one maybe 2 brands of rods. Just feels more natural if your using one brand. I used to fish 5-6 brands, sometimes all out on the deck. Makes it more difficult to become one with the rod. Just my opinion.
