I own both the light and tough and the falcon lowrider. Both rods have been outstanding in my opinion. In the market for another rod though and wanted to know what yall thought?

I'm a fan of the Avid, but the price keeps climbing (like everything else) to the point where it has become difficult to decide between one Avid or two $100 rods like the Veritas. Especially when it comes to moving baits, like spinnerbaits and cranks.

"Best" is a subjective term to begin with. Add to that the lack of industry standard ratings or measurements and the decision is even more a case of personal preference. The reel to be mounted and the intended use of the rod may make one brand's offering  a better choice than another as well. With that said, I am a fan of St Croix and their blanks, especially Avid level and up.

I have a St. Croix Premier that's a GREAT rod. Just got a Triumph in the same length and action for comparison. Anxious to try it out.

The price ranges of the rods you listed have a pretty wide variance.....about $100.

We have recently had a number of Avids for sale around

$125. I think they are a great value even at MSRP!

I love my Falcon Lowrider XG.

I like my Kistler Mag TS but need more time on the water with it. The Cabelas Prodigy and Mag Touch are in that price range and pretty good rods. The Cabelas XML is a bit above the $100 mark but I have 4 of those and love them.

Crucial or Avid.  Both of them are fine rods and very comparable to each other.  Personally, I prefer the way the Crucial line feels in my hands better.  Either one would serve you just fine.

I don't understand your thinking. You love your Falcons. You've got at least one rod (Avid) that goes for $180+(Tackle Warehouse). If you're considering spending that much, why not a Falcon Cara. I should also point out that you can get the original Powell Max casting rod for $139. I That's probably your best deal right there.

I have a few of those rods (Avid, Crucial,Lowrider XG, Vendetta), and for me out of them,my favorite, is my Avid.

from the list I would say Avid....The Dobyns Savvy and Powell Max rods are right up there too but not listed.

The only rods ive ever used has been carrot sticks and the micro magic duckett rods so of course I will vote for Ducket Rods....I have been templating on trying the st. croix and the kistlers..have heard nothing but good things!!!

My vote goes for the Avid.

St Croix is a fine company. They build excellent fishing rods at a pretty reasonable price... and most of their products are made in the U.S.A.

That's good enough for me.

I voted Veritas. The more I fish em the more I like em. Had you listed a Verdict as a choice Id a gone that way as I think many of the rods are still a bit more then the Verdict.
