Now there will be a rush to get the "magic lure". It's like buying a Kobe Bryant basketball and thinking your going to be an NBA superstar... not going to happen.

I am thinking of getting the shoes. Gotta try some on though. I have to find a shoe thats comfortable for all day standing and walking, not just fishing.

I mean of course he tries to design effective baits, thats the point isnt it?

I may as well not fish my tournament on Saturday because my KVD shoes will not be here on time .......dang!!

KVD is the best tournament bass fisherman in the world.  There's nothing wrong with people wanting to know exactly what he's using & how he's using it.  In fact, if nobody cared what any of the pros used; you wouldn't see the high dollar tournaments.  Without the tournaments & pros selling product, you wouldn't see the selection of high end gear we have today.

There's nothing really wrong about imitating the pros.  But I don't think the pros are selling/promoting the high end gears like you were trying to say.  They are more geared towards promoting affordable products since that is where the big chunk of market.

The pros are not always promoting the high end gear, but the popularity of pros has helped with sales of fishing gear. More sales means more companies coming into the business, and existing companies expanding. All this means companies can afford to make the high end equipment we love to drool over.
