What are some good line to line knots for tieing leaders. I seen one on tv the other week but cant remember for the life of me what it was he said it wasnt a knot at all just a series of wraps. Iv experemented with trying to figure it out on my own and came up with some knots that held pretty good just pulling hard with my hands. What are some of the knots you guys use or would recomend.

Alberto

Albright

Double uni

Blood knot

Excellent!

I would go with the Albright.  I used to use the Blood knot but had way to many issues between braid and flouro.

So far haven't had an issue with the Albright.

Make a loop with a three turn surgeons knot , then with your doubled braid, tie a uni to uni.

Agreed........I have been practicing it over and over all winter, and can do it in my sleep now.

I used to do Uni to uni for the longest.  After reading John's many posts about the Alberto knot I've started using it.  It is much quicker and easier to tie than doing a uni to uni.  Last weekend was the first test in a brush-filled lake.  I got hung up twice where I had to break off and the Alberto knot held strong.  The break occurred in other sections of the fluoro leader which is what I wanted to see.

Alberto (Modified Albright) or the Albright Special are the only two line to line knots I use now.  Both of them are fairly easy to tie, the Albright has a bit of a smaller profile, but it is a longer knot.  The Alberto is a bit thicker, it's also shorter than the Albright.  Both of them are fantastic knots.  If I'm joining two lines that are noticeably different in size, I'll tie the Alberto 100% of the time.
