I thought it would be appropriate to bump this thread after hearing the bad news of @Catt's passing.  I don't fish Toledo Bend but this is a very interesting read for anyone.  I know Tommy took a lot

Everyone caught fish most fish were caught in 3 to 5 foot.

Flukes caught the big fish several 8 and 7 pounders.

We caught 20 to 30 keepers Friday and Saturday. Fished above 1215 Blue Lake area.

New Ranger Handled great. It was rough Saturday 4 to 5 on the main lake. Tough on an old guy.

Going back next weekend. ;)

Sweet ;)

I fished Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Thursday-went into Sandy Creek...man there were some BIG fish in there on beds, just couldn't get them to bite anything.  I fished from 7:00-12:00 with little luck catching, but that was o.k. because I was just scouting for my tourny Saturday anywayz.  After lunch, I backed off into about 6-8ft of water and started throwing a wacky worm and they ate it up.  Dont know how many I caught in the last three hours, but it was a lot and a few decent (3-4lbs) fish.

Friday-got to the lake about 4:00 p.m. and fished till dark in Mill Creek.  Found a ton of spots and buck bass on wacky worms, but no mommas.

Saturday-went back into Sandy Creek hoping to pull a big un or two for my tourny.  I threw a wacky worm for a few hours with only 2 small weigh fish to show for it.  I then picked up a Red Eye Shad (Orange Craw) and started throwing it when the storm hit.  I was catching fish every five cast with that thing!  I caught em in 10-15 FOW fishing the RES 3-4ft. deep.  I couldn't find the big one consistantly though.  I ended up weighing in 12lbs, good for 8th out of about 40 people.  Man that weather got bad and COLD in a hurry!  I had on shorts and a T-shirt.

P.S. My boat wouldnt start on the way back so I had to get towed in.  Im going back up Friday and Saturday with my dad, but he cant get off work until 12 Friday, so he wont be there until about 2-2:30ish.  If anyone needs a fishing partner for Friday morning, Im off work and would love to fish!  Just PM me and let me know! ;)

ealex, will do  ;)

we are fishing there the 17th-20th... were staying at the North State Park... I think we will do some scouting Thursday and then try a more specific attack Fri, Sat and Sunday... unless someone has a suggestion! (hint hint, wink wink)  ;)

Good luck on Lacassine yall. A lot of the guys at work are talking about that place.

Ive been rereading earlier posts a lot lately and I think im starting to pick up some good information. Its becoming apparent to me that good electronics is a key that I have been missing. Ive been using a HB Matrix 35 which is 6-8 years old. It could also be that I just dont understand what it is trying to tell me.

There has been a lot of talk about patterns, ie. pre-spawn, post spawn, summer, fall. Are these all of the patterns that the bass go through on Toledo?

Any information would be appreciated.

TxGator, my highest tech depth finder is a Hummingbird 535; it aint the depth finder it's knowing what your reading.

All bass in every body of water go through these seasonally patterns ;)

Catt...Might want to hold off on the Lacassine Pool until the water level comes up.  I've read reports that almost all boats have to fish the main canals since most flats are bone dry.  I am sure you can catch plenty of fish that will be stacked up in the canals, but if you are a weekender like me, then you will have to fish on top of other boats.  Either way, I hope you do well.  I will be fishing whitelake marsh pretty soon, but am heading up to Toledo this weekend.

Went a few weeks ago.  Fished south Friday(Indian Mounds (2 keepers), Housen (4 keepers), Six mile, Yocum (4 keepers), Negreet (4 keepers). Caught 27 fish total on Friday.  Got on some nice fish later in the day and had ~18 pound stringer without the 7-8 lber that we dropped at the boat.

On Sat, fished north 1215 (6 keepers) and bluelake (2 keepers).  Caught 35 total.  2.5 lbs was the biggest.

I think we will stay south this time.  Maybe try Mill Creek since I havent tried there yet.  Good Luck to all!

Love this thread!  Thanks for all the great info.

Bryan J, thanks for the update; when I fish Toledo or Lacassine it is usually during the week ;)

Where can I purchase Yamalube 2M on TB, Louisiana/Texas

mid lake area ?

I was hoping Toledo Tackle since I need some as well.

I do not wait to buy any thing on the lake, you will pay twice as much ;)

Checked with Toledo Tackle, they dont sale it. I was hoping to find someone selling it bulk around the lake. Read where some shops sale it for regular price first gallon, then return for refill at reduced cost.

Catt, i hate to keep bugging you but I was just wondering if you happened to know of anything on the net to aid in learning to properly read the depth finder. Ive done a search on this site looking, but was unable to find anything. Im going to keep searching.

Thanks for your help.
