For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports

Featured Replies

Hey guys I used to post on here once in awhile and still check up and read your guys' posts.   I'm friends with a few of you on facebook....Cameron Buck.  Decided I'd get back on here and join the party haha.  I need to figure out how to post pictures on here, because from what I remember you have to use another site or something of that nature correct?  Like Photobucket?

Here are some pictures and the video from the giant I caught at LaCygne this weekend. She weighed 10 ls 15 oz and released to fight another day.

Fished LaCygne Sunday- I started up lake and noticed quite a few boats in the river section. I pitched flooded brush and water willows for a while ending up with one fish about 2lbs.

You can attach photos directly to the post and not host them on Photobucket. It's in your post options.

Odd day at Wolf today. Started out with the first 45 minutes on a pretty good jerkbait and trap bite lakeside. Then it died. I mean nothing- not even the Ned could buy a strike. After more than an hour without a bite, I broke down and went to the outlet. I caught several greens and one stout brown on the Ned in the outlet by absolutely deadsticking it. Then, as the afternoon progressed and the wind died down a little bit, I went back out lakeside and started catching them pretty good on a jerkbait, Ned, and tube. But the best pattern was running a mag wart parallel to the riprap in about 8-11 FOW. Bad news is that I lost my last pre-Rapala Tennessee Shad mag wart. WT was 72 in the outlet and the lowest temp I saw was 49.2 at the dam.

I was out Sunday as well and had a heck of a time getting anything consistent going. I threw a bunch of jerkbaits and did some exploring in the cove north of the ramp but never ventured south of the plant. I did run into fish on a ned but the hits were extremely soft. Dead sticking made a lot of difference.

Given the weather this week, I might have to head south next weekend to put some productive fishing together... I'm thinking the jerkbait bite at Table Rock might be worth looking into...

There's a solid wart/Rock Crawler bite going on. Gravel chunk rock transitions and mixed gravel/chunk points are key.

In case anyone needs some quality rain gear. I have the fishing parka and bibs, and these are probably just as good of quality.

I've got the bibs too (paid the regular price of  $100 when I got them), they were out of my size for the parka then but good to know about the sale price so I can try to get it again and at the lower price! Thanks for the tip.

It's California where people are allergic to eating bread.

I have the soft shell set... wish I had gotten them for this price. They are great. Warm, wind and water tight.

Hey everyone.  I have been a longtime lurker to forums and have finally decided to start posting.

My buddy and I got out over the weekend and do some crappie fishing.  We were both able to limit out in a few hours after we found them.  It was a great day.  Our biggest fish was around 14".

We are hoping to get out again this weekend.

Welcome to the forum! Lots of stupid inside jokes with an occasional fishing report to be found on this thread.

Was fortunate enough to be able to take this guy out to Wolf yesterday. Some of you might recognize him if you spend time watching fishing videos on YouTube. I got him down here and promised a stellar day, and a stellar day was had. The video will be out on his channel at 7pm tonight (Andrew Flair Outdoors).

Dam that's good advertising to say the least

Has anyone been out to LaCygne Lately?  I would love to hear a report, water temps, etc. if you don't mind sharing.

Heard him mention something on a previous video about wanting to get down here and fish WC. Awesome that you got him on the water.

That's how I got him down here. I got in touch with him right after that video and it was a done deal.

Thanks again for the tip...I now have the parka that matches my bibs...and saved $40! Bday money well spent!

Fun day! Enjoy. He obviously had to pick and choose footage. The amount of fish catches that aren't in the video is silly.

Awesome video! Even though he's young, that dude has a huge following and has built himself a pretty successful brand. The fact that he described your trip as one of the best days of bass fishing in his life, is quite an accomplishment. Nicely done. "Welcome to Kansas" (loved that part)

Enjoyed the video.  I was impressed with the number of LMB you caught, I really thought it would be more of SMB bite.  Got me excited to get out there again soon!  What was the water temps???

Like I said, it's silly how many fish didn't make it in the video because it would have been an hour long. We caught plenty of smallies. We also didn't fish the rocks much (didn't need to leave fish to find fish). It's usually a heavy largemouth bite at the buoy spot anyway. Water temp was 65-69 at the outlet and 40s everywhere else.

I've got the regular fishing parka and bibs. Paid regular price for them but they're very affordable so I didn't care. They're awesome!!
