Here are some pictures and the video from the giant I caught at LaCygne this weekend. She weighed 10 ls 15 oz and released to fight another day.

Fished LaCygne Sunday- I started up lake and noticed quite a few boats in the river section. I pitched flooded brush and water willows for a while ending up with one fish about 2lbs.

Nah, Silvers are the jumpers, Bigheads get the biggest, they're all Asian carp.

Any recommendations for propeller service around KC or Truman/Ozark?

Midwest in Olathe at I 35 & Lone Elm

http://www.midwestpropeller.com/Contact.html

Midwest prop redid mine last year. Great service!

I've had success with Midwest prop before as well.

Thanks guys. I found a brand new prop in my boat box. Can't wait to go play with it. I need something. Not catching fish

Full moon coming. Curious, will bass start spawning?

Saw a bed with 2 nice fish on it yesterday.

Had our first weeknight deal of the year on Olathe Thursday and it was brutal. 7 boats with only 2 limits caught and 2 boats with zeros. Me and GJM had 1 of the limits, and we WORKED for those 5 bites, which was the only 5 bites we got. The pond was the place to be like I figured it would be. I got our biggest of the night out of there but it had been thoroughly worked over at that point. Got our fish on a jig, wobbler, and a spinnerbait. The bites we got were aggressive, just very few and far between.

We hit up Clinton for the first time today since it seemed like the only lake that we could get a break from the wind.  The goal was to get a brown fish in the boat and that goal was accomplished.  Water was 54, squarebill was the bait of the day but the big smallie came on the black and blue chatter surprisingly.

Sounds like that tournament going on at LOZ is catching lots of big bass

Did anyone fish LOZ today?

Thinking about going tomorrow and could use any advice.

Finally got the skunk off my back at Olathe yesterday afternoon. Nice 19"  fatty (left the scale at home), but it was the ONLY bite I had there. The day before I fished what I thought was Olathe East Pond. According to the KS website it was, but as I was leaving I saw some private property signs...oops. Regardless, I was able to get a few small ones there. Today I worked in a neighborhood that had a private lake, and with permission fished that. I probably caught over 30 fish in an hour time span between lunch and after work. No keepers, but it was bite after bite. Lots of fun, and more than that gave me a little confidence boost after having absolutely no luck so far this year.

Going to the LOZ up Gravois this weekend and will get to fish from a boat again. Hopefully we can get a few. I'd like to get a few quality fish too, after getting so many small ones. I'll let you guys know how it's doing after this weekend.

Fished Pleasanton East Sunday afternoon- caught mostly dinks with the best fish being 18". The better fish came off weightless flukes on reed's adjacent to emerging lily pad sections. All fish were immediately off of shoreline structure. Despite the wind and the cloud cover, fish were mostly on plastics with a couple chatterbait fish mixed in. I'm guessing I was catching bed fish and buck-bass staging- if there were better females in adjacent deeper water, they were hard to come by.

Water temps were between 58-61F, and weed growth was pretty limited still.

In case anyone was wondering about Melvern.... don't bother. :)

We landed in 6th out of 22 boats.

We weighed one fish.

Shhhhhh. Don't let the masses know how much of a sleeper Smallie lake my home water is. :)

This is the time of year to find that kind of quality. So underrated. All of my big ones have been in March/April, but the North shore sees a lot of fish year round.

Smallie....I meant keeper walleye.  Next time I'm at Clinton it wont be in a wind storm and I'll be targeting me some eyes.  In general lakes smaller than dotte I wont post about because I have seen the effects first hand.

Some steals on CL right now on old boats.

Give me a shout when ya do, might be able to give ya a tip or two or hop in the boat sometime. I know a guy that guides there for them.

Will do, always nice to fish with new people.  The topography of that lake reminds me of some of the Canadian waters I have fished over the years.

It's a great fishery and I'm happy to live 3 minutes from the ramp. It's getting to be that time where the majority of my trips move from Coffey to Clinton allllllll summer long. A summer afternoon/evening of Walleyes and Wipers to boot never gets old!

Any reports from Banner Creek?  Heading there this weekend to do some fishing.

Is Wyco lake worth the extra 45 to fish there?

Depends on what you're wanting from the lake.   Big bass are not going to happen.  Trout are great in March.  It's close and I can most always catch a few bass,  15 or 16 inches is a good one there. Average 10 to 12 inches.  Although I did catch a 4# small mouth last year.

How does Wyco lake compare to Hillsdale lake?  In the past I have fished bank side of Hillsdale a lot.  Size is great but I also like numbers.  Wow that does not sound right.

Very different lakes with the Dale being stained, mostly mud and clay, and tons of standing timber with largemouth only. Wyco is much deeper, extremely clear, weedy, very little wood, and a mix of largemouth and smallmouth.

If I lived closer, I'd absolutely buy the permit, but I know what it is before I go out there. If you've never fished it before, you'll likely be disappointed.

There used to be a Wyco thread that was fairly active. I'd suggest looking through there to help with your decision.
