Need some help with jig trailers

Featured Replies

I fish a lot of murky/heavily stained water in Mississippi. I use lunker lure's triple rattleback jigs (to help the fish find the bait). I have been using zoom super chunk trailers, but they don't really have any action to them. I'd like to try some twin tail (curly tail) trailers. Can someone suggest a brand/model of these? Also, usually fish a black-red jig and would like to find some twin tail trailers that match it. Thanks!!!

The nearest Bass Pro Shops is 100 miles away. A buddy of mine is going there tomorrow (April 5th) and I need to place my order with him. What does BPS carry in a twin tail trailer that you recommend? I didn't see the 4" Yamamoto Grub. Thanks for your help here.

Well, they show the 5" which is just fine. If you think the body is too long, just bite off a piece!

If you really want that trailer to move some water to help the fish find it, you should look into baits like Strike King Rage tails, Zoom Ultra Speed Vibe Craw, or Paca Craws. The action on these trailers is something else. Here is a little preview...

"....just bite off a piece...."  LOL

I was thinking the same thing!

Thanks to you both for your input!

I found up here that you can't limit yourself, try a Beaver bug  3 7/8" or a Kicker Kraw.

Netbait Paca Craw in Okochobee. Write that down. ;) It'll work wonders in that murky water.

Rage Tail trailers are Numero Uno for me as well.  Not only do they have awesome action but they also kick and wave with the slightest jig movement. Move alot of water which creates some serious vibrations. They are much more durable than some of the others as they don't lose their claws as easy unless of course they get bit off by a ;) :)BIG mouth

Berkley Power Bait Chigger Craw, draw 'em in with the rattle, the Power Bait scent will take over once they get a sniff of it.

Net Bait Paca Chunk and Paca Craw.

Try a Kalins Mogambo Grub.  It's a single tail but it moves a LOT of water.

Wow! I got a lot of feedback and I greatly appreciate each and every one of you for taking the time to help me. After much thought, I decided on the Rage Tail, Zoom Ultra Vibe Speed Craw, and Berkley Chigger Craw. I think that's plenty for now. Gosh, it doesn't take long to spend a lot of money, just on a few packs of plastic! Thanks again to each of you.

Good luck friend and throw'em till hang into Ms BIG.
