productive fluke colors

Featured Replies

What are some of your most productive fluke colors?

I would say mine are pearl,albino shad(basically white,lol),watermelon,watermelon red,and arkansas shiner.

I have some baitfish and golden bream colored ones that I haven't got to try yet though. :)

Frankly, I don't know of any color fluke that doesn't work well (I've tried them all).

For years my favorite fluke colors were Ice and Bubblegum, but lately I've been partial to Albino.

In the real world, choose ANY color to be your favorite,

and bass will convince you that's it's their favorite too :)

just try to match the forage in the fishery that u plan on fishing  white or pearl works well for me anywhere i go  but in some rivers i fish for smallies a shad color works awesome then 2 miles away at a creek that holds smallies   a natural creek chub color works great but the shad doesnt catch nothing   so yea just try to make the natural forage of the lake river or stream u are fishing

I think it depends on the the color and how clear the water is, but watermelon seed works great for me

WHITE and Arkansas Shiner...but mostly white.

Those are the only 2 fluke colors I use

Pearl 70% of the time.

Will use Ark Shiner occasionally and bait Fish or White Ice in real clear water.

I almost exclusively use Arkansas Shiner, Baby Bass, or Green Pumpkin.

Baby Bass, Watermelon, Watermelon Red, Green Pumpkin, Pearl White, Albino Shad, and Mardi Gras

white or pearl cause most of the time i am twitching it near the surface and the fish are mostly only seeing the bottom

I've always used a shad colored fluke (silver or grey) but picked up a six pack of riverside soft jerkbaits with a purple back with grey sides and a black "shad" dot on the side for $1 T Wal-Mart. I will give them a try this spring.

watermelon seed and pearl white(i put a few yellow grubs in with the white to make it more of a perch color) works good.... but by far watermelon is by top producing lure.......

On our stretch of the upper Mississippi, nothing beats the YUM Houdini Shad in Camo Pearl.  When the water is murky, Chartreuse with silver flake works well and Baby Bass is also useful at times.
