night lures

Recommended Posts

Everything you fish during the day.

I like fishing jerkbaits at night, but I don't fish much after dark.

I'm sure other guys will post some suggestions.

Fish the same baits, same locations, and same techniques you would during the day. The only thing different I add to my repertoire at night is a Q-Beam!

I've had a lot of luck with Poppers and shallow crankbaits. I have heard that black buzzbaits are killer in the summer time at night. I am speaking about fishing from dusk to alittle past sundown. I have never really been fishing too late. In the summer the sun in setting around 8-8:30 and I'll stay for about an hour after that.

I think I replied in the smallie section, but it's worth repeating...

Topwaters, but especially a black/blue chatterbait. They're fantastic for night fishing. Caught my PB smallie and many other big ones on this bait at night.

You all fish the same locations at night? I fish the same general areas, but I get the feeling that fish roam a little more at night under the cloak of darkness and are actually easier to catch than they are at midday. Is that not true?

I do ALOT of night fishing and it is completely different than daytime IMO. In fact I don't throw hardly any of the same baits or colors for that matter.

My 2 favorite night baits are a 10" Berkely Power worm in Tequila Sunrise and a big black spinnerbait with an oversized single Colorado blade. You really need to slow roll the spinnerbait but that blade will vibrate your arm and thats what your looking for.

I do not fish them in tight structure but rather over open water humps, points, and creek channels.

These are my 2 go to baits and they have produced a lot of big bass.
