Bring it on MuddyMan!! 8-) This will be the true test for BOTh teams. A seven game series with both teams starting pitching either quite thin (Mets) or sometimes questionable (Cards). It's gonna be interesting. This is going to be a very exciting offensive series I believe. I think the Mets still have an edge on us, but then again...the Padres were supposed to too...and they are getting out their golf gear. Cards in five may be a little bold of a prediction Bassmasta. The Mets are no chumps. I say this one goes to Game 7 with the Cards pulling it out. It's gonna be fun...LET'S GO CARDINALS!!!!

I'm not making any predictions.  I'm rooting for my Cardinals all the way, but then I'd be rooting for them even if they were cellar dwellers.  Obviously, going by the season, the Mets have the better team, but anything can happen in the playoffs.  Go Redbirds!!!!!!

Good Luck Gman and the rest of you bird fans. I dont know why you guys are down on Carpenter thats one nasty curve ball. If he could get a change up going he could be a 20 + game winner I think Maine and Glavine will be competitive with your line up as for Trachel Im wearing a helmet for that game balls will be dropping in Pennsylvainia as the tee off him. Weaver got that nasty slider. I see it as this You gotta get past our middle relievers/bullpen and put some numbers up to get at our closers which are qustionable.

 We need to get at your bullpen as fast as possible and you are gonna need more than Albets bat to beat the run total the Mets can put up

I don't think any real Cardinal fans are down on Carpenter. :-? Last nights game was an example of how a great pitcher responds when things start bad. He kept it together and completely shut down the Padres for 6 innings. It didn't hurt that we scored two in the first ot tie things up, but Carpenter is an ace, and we would not have made the post-season without him. : Not to mention he has two of our three wins.

It looks like our hitting is starting to come around. We are better off without Rolen in the lineup right now, and if Edmunds can contribute we will give you guys a good series.

Yeah, I'm not down on Carpenter at all.  He had the awesome seaon last year going 21 - 5, 2.83 ERA, and the National League Cy Young award.  This is a bad season for him and he went 15-8 with a 3.09 ERA.  I'd give anything to have three starting pitchers at that level this season.  

Goodbye to the Yankee's.     Couldn't buy this championship this year either.

I hope it's a good series. The "experts" have all conceeded the series to the Mets, but the Cards should not be taken lightly-just ask the Padres. Our starting pitching (after Carpenter ) is a real question, and ya'll have a potent lineup, but we still have a shot. Speaking of shots, if Marquis starts you better keep that hard-hat close by-someone could get killed. ;D

Any basbeball person who takes the Cards Lightly is a fool. These teams have some similar strengths and weaknesses this series has the possibility of a classic Good luck K-mac

Oh man, I cant wait until tomorrow, its go time.  

And if your team loses, who will you be rooting for?  If the Redbirds lose, I'll root for the Mets in the World Series.  The National League has won only three of the last ten series and overal the American league leads the series something like 60 - 41.  The National League needs to even it up a little.  

I have a hard time rooting for a team that has just upended us. I think the Tigers deserve it the most. That group of youngsters has played their collective butts off and Leyland has ressurected that franchise. If...and only if...the Cardinals lose...will I be rooting for the Tigers.

If the Cards beat the Mets it will not be hard rooting for them as they are my second favorite organization, plus the NL better start getting even with the Junior Circut.

I agree with that one.  its going to be tough and whoever wins Cards or Mets better be on top of their game.

I know it's a seven game series and its only the 8th inning but sure does look like the Tigers have some kind of MOJO goin on....
