Yes I do not eat meat, when I am sleeping ;D

Michelle has had a 20 yr history of stomach problems with diagnosis' ranging from colitis to you name it.  After many diets, they noticed that she wasn't able to fully digest meats, this was making her intestines twist.

So she cut meat out for like 4-5 yrs.  Then she was readin on the net about anti biotics, which she had been on often, and how they kill many of the necessary bacteria in our bodies.

So she tried something called pro-biotics.  She gets them at the health store and the ones she gets are like the strongest version, by far.

As long as she takes 1/day, she can now eat anything.  All those years, all those doctors, all the missed parties and uncomfortable stomach pains and a simple pill makes it all better.

Just a story I thought I'd relate.

But yea,I eat all meats except Lamb.  Don't really like that one.  Beef Filet's,  pulled pork, Thinly pounded veal and venison are some of my favorites.

Wow.  I couldnt live without a steak.

Wow.  I couldnt live without a steak.

Agreed, it is fourth on my list of things I could not live without, behind women, fishing, and hunting.  :D

My wife's been a vegetarian for 15 years. If it has a face, she won't eat it.

She does cook a mean steak tho.

I learn something new every day. :)

I eat ANY kind of meat! (well, almost any) I couldn't live without it!!!

Tight Lines ;) 8-)

Murray,

I don't know where the video you are referencing came from, but I can assure you that most slaughter facilities are using the most ethical practices that they can.  Watching such a video probably wouldn't sway me much.  The sight of most slaughtered animals makes me hungry!  :)

I admire you for voicing your preference here.  I have no problem with anyone who chooses not to eat meat, but everyone should have a right to choose without any pressure to do otherwise.

I have only been to one slaughter house and that was uncle's barn on his farm.

To me it is just a fact of life.  These animals are a food product.  Yes they live and breath but they are here to fead us.

Most people can watch a slaughter house video or visit one and want to become a pescatarian or a vegetarian for that matter. As far as I am concerned, I love meat! Can't live without it!

One video my mom saw on the news was inhumane and cruel. Cattle ranchers were abusing their cows that were soon to be slaughtered by punching and kicking them, hitting them with garden tools, pushing them over with forklifts, dragging them by their legs and all this abuse for no reason.

There's no reason why one would torture an animal. No matter if it is about to be slaughtered or not!  >:(

The only meat that bothers me is cheap hamburger.  Too many recalls for tainted hamburger.  I have started buying my meats from a small local butcher.  MUCH better that way.

I've actually been part of the butchering process (hog) so I doubt watching a movie about it would affect me much.

my roommate had to take probiotics when he was taking strong antibiotics for a staph infection. The antibiotics were killing his stomach digestion bacteria at the same time they were killing the staph bacteria. He had to get yogurt with the probiotics or else he would get sick

Anyways, I couldn't imagine giving up hamburgers, cheese steak, sausages, even chicken

I eat meat because  the west was not won on salads.

Funny story...

I was talking to the in-laws the other day.  They were talking about my sister in law.  She is always sick.  She is a vegan.

Me being me, I put two and two together.  So I blurt out, "That girl needs to get some meat".  Meaning, she needs to not be such a vegan.  Of course I caught myself right at the very end which made everyone pay even more attention.

Awkward silence.   :o

i do not understand vegans it doesnt seem healthy... no eggs, no milk. think about all the nutrients you are missing if you take those out of your diet

Actually we ae all impressed that you used the word pescatarian , which was the point of the whole thread anyway
