Featured Replies

My 2000 Volvo S-70 with 309,800 miles on it finally died.

So I am in the market for a new vehicle to drive around the highways and byways and to tow my boat.

Any suggestions or input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Volvo's last forever as you know with a car with 309,000 miles. Look at their new suv's.

309k miles since 2000???  You drive a lot...I mean a friggin lot man lol.

Here is a suggestion... http://www.commutercars.com/

GO ELECTRIC BABY!!!!

Or you could look at an Altima from Nissan.  They get pretty decent mileage I think and it's a good looking car.

Anything with a HIGH MPG.

P.S. 300k miles in less than 9 years, well done my friend! WOW!

I think a Chevette or a pacer or better yet a Gremlin baby. Oh yeahh that is what I am talking about.

But seriously, Um I do not know. Just had to ad my smart " " answers.

Well I think something with high MPG's should be on the list.

id say the new z71 i saw them new for 28000 and they get 24 mpg not bad for a 5.3 v8 its also got 4 wheel drive with lockers for all your off road excursions

SS

I just bought a Ford Focus, if you are just looking for something good on gas and to get around on this is the car. It didn't cost like $12,500 and it has good room for a small car. Don't know about the pulling

it would do but I guess anything is possible. ;) I also just bought a Ford

F350, drove it yesterday and it got 7.9 mpg :-/

go diesel baby. august, new jetta TDI's coming out. mid 50's in mpg's

Toyota Camry, quiet, smooth, reliable, and just a great overall vehicle.  If I was to ever buy a car that would be the one unless I was looking for a luxury vehicle.

My buddy used to work for Toyota and he got his wife into an 08 Camry. I agree 100% on everything you said especially the smooth part, its extremely smooth. I would call it the closest thing to a "non luxury" vehicle you can buy.

I've got a 2003 Toyota Corolla and I've had no problems with it, plus it gets great milage around town.

New Car

1. Honda Civic/Accord

2. Toyota Camry/Corolla

3. VW Passat/Jetta

I have a Jetta with 130K on it and it gets about 24-28 MPG depending on conditions and how I drive.   They have pretty good resale value and if your use to a Volvo you may want to consider VW as a first choice.  Nevertheless, I have had issues with my Jetta to say the least and would only recommend it as a distant third to Honda/Toyota or even their respective luxury brands Acura/Lexus.

Happy hunting.

So far it is either a Rav4 or Roadrunner from Toyota.

I still have to look at the Hondas, Chevys and Fords.

Son called and told me to look at the small Lexus SUV.

Now, can you see anyone pulling a bass boat with a Lexus SUV?

I looked silly pulling my bass boat with my dead Volvo.

The Porsche looks like a good deal until you realize that I can't put my fishing equipment in it which I carry with me all the time.
